Anyone in Del Rio TX?

We just arrived in Del Rio and will be here for about 4 days. We're at the Lonesome Dove RV Park.

They are not on line or MOC but Pam and Larry Bristow are down the road at Holiday Trav-L-Park. Nice people, they work as campground hosts for the COE here in Mo during the season. Look 'em up and say that Bob & Karen Smith said "Hi". Bob & Karen
PS. Send an e-mail to us about the parks. We couldn't make it down this year because of a health problem.

We love Lonesome Dove! In fact we stayed there 3 yrs in a row, but this year family activities led us to Arizona & New Mexico. We plan on being there 2/15 until we head home to Wis. in April. Better watch it those pot lucks (meat furnished by owner) every Friday are an easy way to gain weight!

Okay, we tried to find Pam and Larry Bristow yesterday with no luck. We toured all of the other RV parks here and so far Lonesome Dove is the best, although somebody is building a brand new RV park going West on 90. It looks like it will be ready in a few months. For those who haven't been to this part of Texas before you should know it is part of the Chihuahuan desert and almost everything is brown and dusty looking. When we first came into the RV park we weren't too impressed, but after having seen all the others this one looks good!! We toured around the Amistad Reservoir yesterday and fishing looks good. Went to Mexico today, Ciudad Acuna, and it was soooo quiet there. The people were very nice and friendly. Much calmer than Progresso or Algadones. Not as much stuff either. I think we would come back to this area.
