Satellite Hook Up

We just bought a used 2015 Montana High Country. We bought a Winegard satellite and can't seem to figure out how to hook it up to the RV. There are 3 ports on the outside labeled; satellite, living room satellite, and TV. So far none of those give us TV. The only way we have made it work, is to go through front door with satellite cable and plug it in living room TV port. Not very convenient! Help!

First let me say, I have never looked close at a Montana High Country. But I have to assume it is wired similarly to regular Montanas. The "Living Room Satellite" connection goes to a connector in the entertainment center area. It is a direct run without any splitters. You should cable the receiver to the port and be good to go. Montana has a history of bad connectors and swapped cable ends. If you can, check the continuity (a tone device is best) to ensure you have the correct cable and it is intact.

Here is a picture of the wiring for TV, satellite, and cable in a Montana.

On our HC the top connector works our LR satellite. Go to the source button on the remote and make sure you are on the right HDMI setting.

Ours is a little older, but was supposedly 'wired for satellite'. We've a rear entertainment system and I couldn't get it to work without killing the bedroom TV. I decided that we'd only use satellite for the 40" rear TV and keep over the air antenna for the bedroom one (we use it when boondocking anyway), so I just drilled a hole in the back of the cabinet to the outside and mounted an outdoor jack. Works great when we want satellite and I can easily switch to antenna when either Dish is being difficult and I want to see local.

The pre wiring for the satellite hook ups in the units are junk because they have a splitter between the receiver and the dish somewhere and you cant do that, so i ran a couple of coax cables directly to the areas needed. because the units are all made different you have to do some looking to see where to run your cables, i started from the convenience center and ran them to the bedroom through the floor and the one to the tv in the living through the belly and then to the slide then up to the entertainment center.
