3400RL Drain locations

I purchased a used 2007, Monty 3400RL late fall, which is now sitting surround by a pile of snow. I have read the owners manual several times and do not see where it indicates the drain is for the fresh water tank. Don't feel like crawling around under it in the snow so I would appreciate someone telling me where it is and if under the enclosed belly, how to get at it.

I cannot remember if it is at the front or rear , but thinking the rear on our 2007 3400RL, underneath and close to the center, you will see a small drain extending downward that hopefully has a cap or valve on it. Prepare to crawl in the snow, Sorry!

As Bingo mentioned, your fresh water tank is usually near the rear of your fiver. You'll see a 1/2" plastic line hanging down from the plastic cardboard belly pan usually near the street side with probably just a plastic cap on the end. Hope you're just wanting location and not use of it. Ice chunks won't pass thru 1/2" hose ... Ha!

Mine is a 3075RL, but it is a 2007. Mine is about 6" inches long hanging down near the rear and on the driver's side with a white screw on cap.

The OEM version was the little white cap on the end. Many of us took that off and added a valve so you'll either have six inches of tubing with a cap or a valve on the street side a couple of feet in at the rear of the rig. I suppose it's possible to have both a valve and a cap depending on where they bought the valve.

Thanks for the info. The unit was winterized when I bought it so I didn't bother to look. But after reading the owner's manual I wanted to know where it was. If it does have the white cap I will put a valve on it in the spring.

On my 3400RL, it was rear driver's side, pointing straight down from the belly with a 1/2" screw-on cap. I added a 90 degree pvc elbow, ran a 1/2" piece of pvc pipe to extend out the rear, attached and supported underneath with a bracket, and put a shut-off valve on the end of it. Very easy to drain now. No reaching under the trailer anymore. Cost me about $6.

Great idea Mark, but if my rig spent a lot of time in snow like cold, then wouldn't any water in that hose possibly end up freezing and cause the hose to crack?

Maybe dropping the bellypan and installing the 90 degree elbow to be inside might improve things, but maybe not if the weather gets real cold. Nevertheless a good idea to create some convenience. Unfortunately, I rarely use my fresh water tank much, even full-timing and don't really need this mod.

From the point where the original pipe coming out of the belly, has the 90 degree elbow attached to it, to where the added extension pipe and valve exit below the trailer underneath the rear of the trailer is a downhill slope all the way. Not a big slope, but a slope none the less. It drains itself completely. I live in northern Utah, and we get down to minus 0 at times, never a problem. There is no water left anywhere in that line after I drain it.
