Tyler State Park, East Texas
We just spent an absolutely delightful few days at the Tyler State Park--only an hour away from our home. The weather was near perfect and we must have had the best campsite in the park.
For those who might be on the way to "The Valley" (RGV, Rio Grande Valley) or just passing through East Texas, let me make this recommendation: It is worth planning your stop at this state park. It is just a mile or two north of I-20 and about 10 miles north of the city of Tyler. Two additions make it almost perfect: there is now WiFi and full hookups including sewer.
For those unfamiliar with the geography of the area, Tyler is between Dallas, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana on Interstate 20.
Here's a photo I took on this trip, right out the frong door of our trailer:

Hi Dave and Shirley,
Yep! That's the kind of country I remember. I've been away too long. I need to get back that way.
Good to see you still out there. Keep checking in and letting us know how you're doing.
Dennis
