2017, 3790RD electric slide issue, any and all advice needed!

Hi All,

need some advice please, slide will come in fine but when trying to put it out basically motor just runs. i would assume its the gear box.
i think i may just replace the motor and gear box at the same time.

any advice on were to buy? and any tricks on installing?

thanks in advance for any help.

I have the same camper but a 2016 3791rd. The slide left of the fireplace took a crap last spring so watched a few videos on Youtube on replacing the gearbox which was my issue. Theres one video thats really good, thats the one i studied over and over before i did it. I had to take wood trim off top part of the slide because slide was in and motor and gearbox screwed to the wall out of my reach and also better to do it in because once cables are disconnected nothing to support slide from staying in its position. Ill try to find the video i used and figure how to put it on here for you. Wouldnt say its a easy job its a little uncomfortable laying on your belly in about 18 inches of space. Also bought the gear box off Ebay had to bid on it but was still cheaper then from Manufactuer.

Thanks i found his you tube video... he was the guy using white out to mark his threads...interesting same gearbox went out on me...left of the fire place...
i think it may have always been messed up come to think of it ....its seemed
to always make some sort of "popping" noise...always thought that was normal.
i bought 2 of them from dryers RV just in case.

thanks for the info...will be having fun this Saturday

Yeah don't forget to mark the teeth with the white out. How much did you pay for them. Only a matter of time before the other side and bedroom. Good luck. Also the new one is so much quiter

So finished the project went pretty easy until the very end had some issue with the lining up the top chain, had to loosen up more of the adjustments then i thought i would , but once i brought them all back to the same spot ...no problems ran the slide in/out at least a dozen times and checked the tension before and after..seemed the same...and yes,,much..much quieter then the other slide...i had to use the bracket that it came with as it seems to be a bit different design.... hope this help others.

Glad it worked out for ya. But for me i don't want to have to do it again that i can tell ya. Did you have to take some of the wood off on the face of the slide like i did or did you have the slide in the out position for easy excess to it?

I had the slide about 50/50 supported on the outside with a jack and a 2x4, i did take off the wood trim to make easier to access both sides. used the top of the slide as a work bench...yea i dont want to do it again but have a feeling the other slide will come up...the bedroom does not to bad for some reason.
