PIN BOX Upgrade to Mor/Ryde

Just returned home from two weeks camping all the way down to Disney Fort Wilderness, there for a week and camping back to Nashville. Before we left we decided to upgrade our pin box on our 2012 295RKD Mountaineer to the Mor/Ryde 1716 Model. We were very impressed with the ride improvement. Even coming back through Birmingham, Alabama where I think they poured the interstate over debris left over from construction. This has to be the worst 10 miles in America of interstate. We saw a significant reduction with our Ford F250 on Air/Ryde shocks and the Mor/Ryde hitch. A perfect two weeks of 80 degree awesome weather and now back to Nashville and early freeze warnings. Fun while it lasted.

Won't even guess why you went through Birmingham. I-75 to Chattanooga and then I-24 to Nashville would have been MUCH better road.

Glad to hear you had a great trip! Ours came with the Mor/ryde hitch and we've really appreciated it, particularly on the interstates around Indiana and Illinois on the way to and from the Rally.

Many first time 5th wheelers who get a 5er with a standard king pin--don't like the ride. I recently had a neighbor with a new 5er ask about my Mor-Ryde king pin. I explained how it worked and how much we liked the improved ride. I suspect he will be shopping soon! Of course a dealer would not want to tell a new buyer that the standard king pin will be a make towing not that pleasant and the fix is a better king pin for $$$.

We went down on I 75/24 but came back on I 65 to stop by a few friends houses. Otherwise 75/24 has my vote for sure. I 65 in that area is like an obstacle course. Great work out for the new pin box for sure.

Since we graduated from a rigid pin box on the 3400 to the Mor-Ryde on the 3750, the ride difference was a definite benefit to our travels. Anybody who has driven on the interstate system in West Virginia knows that the upkeep on these roads is a constant problem. We have decided to take the ride factor to the next level and will be adding an air hitch to the truck in the spring. Even though we do have air bags on the dually which do soften the ride somewhat, I believe that and air cushion below the pinbox will make for the ultimate system to hopefully smooth out the bumps that are prevalent on the major roads that we travel on. Hopefully, I can get this all in place before we venture to New Orleans in the Spring and we can survive the infamous I-10 in this area of the country.

After our initial 1000 mile test run with the stock pin box on our Montana 343RL HC, I took my good friend's advice (who took his Cougar along with us) and upgraded to a MorRyde 1716 long style pin box.

On our 9000 mile trip once around the U.S. this summer, including driving through Birmingham, I have nothing but good things to say about the upgrade!
