King Size Mattress

Our Monty is in storage for the winter and not able to get to it. I need the measurements of the king size mattress. Appreciate if someone can send me these dimensions.

My mattress actually grows to 82" x 90" whenever I'm making the bed...

Speaking of the mattress and associated stuff, we got sheets for a Christmas present, I thought they were Flannel, so warm and soft, but when I looked at the tag to get another set, they are 100% Polyester.
The warmest non-pilling sheets we have ever had.

After insisting we get our Montana with a king size bed, we are now considering replacing it with a queen! The issue is the extra space the king takes up and getting to the closet in the front. Anyone else have these second thoughts on their king bed?

We did fight the king bed and closet battle in the 3400, in the 3750 it is no issue at all!!!

I agree about the tight squeeze with the King, but we are used to it and with 35 years of marriage have been using a King for the past 30. We had a popup and a TT with Queens and we hated it when we were out. We got the Monty because of the King offering. We'll live with the tight fit. Our sleep comfort is more important. We've each been known to catch a nap on the bed sideways (not necessarily at the same time) since we are both under 6' tall.

Others that don't feel the same way have reduced to a Queen successfully. That's probably easier to do than have a Queen and change it to a King.

The measurements on my King are 72" by 78" with 8" radius corners at the foot of the mattress. 72" by 80" in the user manual is close enough. The fitted sheets tuck under the mattress even at the radius', so DW doesn't worry about custom sheets. We buy as close to these measurements and tuck it under just fine.

Doofus... 82" x 90".... WOW! Now THAT'S custom.

Michael, we have thought of it many times, but with a lab and large kitty it would be a major event to go smaller.....

We prefer a queen but our Monty came with a king. We'll live with it for now but may change as we spend more time in the Monty. The size quoted by the factory for the king meets our measurements.

Same length but about one foot on width...that would make a big difference when accessing the front closet in our unit. Since we plan to replace the OEM mattress with something like Tempurpedic, I want to make sure we only have to purchase one...they are too expensive (for me) to play games with. Thanks to each of you for your thoughts. Michael

Our new 3455 was on the lot when we bought and of course had the king bed option. Neither of us were having any part of that so we swapped our queen beautyrest from our old unit for the king one in the new unit. Didn't take more than 5 minutes to cut down the platform to fit the queen. The extra space is first and foremost for us.

We're with Art and Marge, have had a king in the stick house for years, 1st TT had a full, 2nd TT was a queen and we hated both, love the king in the Monty. A little tight getting around, but the sleeping comfort is worth it.

We opted for the king in our 3455. But less than a year later, we bought a queen sleep #. We have a king in the stick house, but we didn't have any trouble getting used to the smaller size. I would like to tell you all that is because we are so petite....but that would be a big fat lie!!! ; )

Our Big Sky came with a King and when we sold the S&B and went full time we took our brand new Queen and have not regretted it....love the extra space for the closet. It's all in what your used to I quess....we have always had a queen so wasn't a problem changing it out.

Has anyone swapped out their OEM mattress for a temperpedic??? My interest is in whether you have had any problem with your slide mechanism...the temperpedic is VERY heavy and am curious whether it would cause problems with slide.

We also wanted a tempurpedic because we have one in our house, but could not afford one when we bought our Monty. So we bought a 4" memory foam topper from Costco as a quick fix, that was over 3 years ago and we have to say we do not notice much difference from our expensive tempurpedic. If I bought a new mattress I would definitely stay with a king, as others have said we hated the queen in our TT. I would probably go with a knock off company like rockymountainmattress.com, others have recommended them and they do make customs.

Ordered ours queen sized. Neither of us take up much acreage, so don't need much area to snooze on. Now if I could only come up with a "white noise machine" to drown out a particular partners snoring ....
