What does your username mean?

junglejim is a nickname a high school girlfriend gave me . My first name is Jim. We grew up in the Big Hair Bands era and listened alot to Guns N Roses "Welcome To The Jungle". Well between that and something I can't mention is how I got the name. No, it has nothing to do with the jungle gym on the playground. If you have listened to the song then you might have a clue . It has followed me for some 25+ years now.

I have been a firefighter for 30 years, now Battalion Chief. And we love to go out in our 5th-wheel. So Fire5er was a take on firefighter.

[The Old Fogies]

I came up with "The Old Fogies" when we started Geocaching. Thought with the name, if we couldn't make some of the hikes it would not look so bad. It has stuck around, much to the dislike of DW.

On my first day at the FAA academy I got the nickname Barney Rubble. You know Fred Flintstone's short, blonde, good natured buddy. I've used "BR" as my operating initials for the last 25 years and most people can't even remember my real name. When a friend saw the rig hooked up behind the F350 he said it was as big as a train. Thus: Rubble Express!

Some years ago, I bought my wife a 4X4 Ford Expedition when they first came out, 1992 I think. Pretty massive vehicle for a relatively little lady. First week she had it, she ran over a remote control car that the neighbors son was playing with. His fault, it got away from him and he drove it under the truck. She felt bad a brought him another one (she's a sweety). Anyway, for her bithday, I bought her personal license plates (KRUSHER). Tried to get CRUSHER, but it was taken. From then on, all my kids friends knew her as KRUSHER. When she traded the Expedition for a smaller vehicle, I kept the plates and put them on a 1974 Bronco that I restored. Ever since, that's been my handle.

Leasit= Lease It.... i was in the property rental business, when i signed up i could have put Rent It, but that morning i had not had my coffee and typed Leaseit instead...

While working for the Post Office, I had a route out of one of the larger stations in Omaha. There were 50+ routes in the station and five of us were named Ron. When we would get a phone call from a patron the supervisor would page Ron over the intercom and all five of us would drop what we were doing and go and answer the phone call. Well you can see the confusion and so the supervisor gave us each a nickname. Mine was Rondo and that has stuck with me from that point on. I still use it whenever I introduce myself and tell them just to call me "rondo"! I use it at restaurants also because there are to many Ron's around and my last name is to long to write down or pronounce!

I do not know where my name comes from. I never ask my Mother. I do know she named my brother after a dog. You know I should have ask her, now we will never know. I run across it very few times.

I am a retired police officer. Many moons ago I was the departments first canine officer. The guys called me Dogman. 131 was my personnel number or badge number. As you can tell by the picture I still have German Shepherds. Greatest dogs in the world. And mine are well behaved.

[The Sunflowers]

We are Canadians, but when we moved to Florida (The Sunshine State) my brother nicknamed us "The SunFlowers" as a play on our last name.

We liked it so much that when we bought our B&B on the coast in New Brunswick, Canada that we named it "The Sunflowers by the Sea"!
