Digital Thermostat-Help!
I just replaced my old thermostat in my 2003, 3670RL Montana fifth wheel with the Hunter Digital #42995B. I read and re-read, checked and re-checked my wiring and I did exactly as instructed. I have 6 wires leading into my thermostat; I:
- attached yellow to yellow(y) for cool
- white to white(W) for furnace
- blue(hi fan) and orange(fan)together to ground(G)
- black(G) to Rh/B
and sealed the red(7.5) off.
My heater works great! I have NO A/C! The thermostat "clicks on" but nothing! What am I doing wrong? I know that enough of the members have replaced these without a problem so I must have screwed up something! Can anyone straighten me out? Thanks,

Looks like you got the wiring correct. Pull the cover on the A/C and make sure all the wires have as good connection there. I helped one of our members replace his thermostat with a Hunter except his unit was new and the yellow wire was loose on the A/C. Otherwise, Ozz will be along shortly, he's the resident A/C expert.

Art,
Make sure you are giving the AC enough time to start - it has a 60-90 second start delay to protect the compressor.

I do not know if you have run your ac in a while, but after ours sat thru storage, it did the same thing, what I found was the fan motor stuck, went on top with long blade screwdriver and gave it a turn to loosen. has been ok all season. Of course, shut off power to the ac before sticking screwdriver in there.

Great info, guys! But... I have run the AC over the weekend, I waited for about 20 minutes with the thermostat in the "cool" on position and, when I place the old one back on... everything WORKS! Keep on brainstorming ... I'm trying everything!

I didn't find any jumper wire to jump the Rh and Rc terminals! Could that be the problem? (Ozz helped me tremendously!)

The Jumper should be from RH to RC Terminal(s)

Any light weight wire you have in your tool kit will do - I think that is your question.

Well guys,
Do I feel stupid! After Ozz emailed me with several solutions, I decided to "re-read the re-read" instructions. No jumper was the problem! Everything is working just fine BOTH heat and AC! Thank you so much for all of your expertise... sometimes it's just the stupid things!

Art, I'm glad you stepped out of your comfort zone and wired it up, many would just say, "I can't do that"
You got all the hard work done on it. Don't feel foolish.

Good job Art....with a little help from your friends lots can be accomplished. About a year from now when it quits working don't forget to change the battery.
