We took delivery
We brought home the 3500RL on Friday. I am very pleased with the unit. There were a number of small items to resolve based upon the inspection list that I verified the unit with (Thanks to the forum).
I do have one major concern. When the trailer sits at an angle to the towing vehicle, it appears that the front axle tire cam levers and the rear axle does not. I have owned other types of tandem trailers and have not experienced this. I had the Service Manager at the dealership observe this and he has stated this is normal. The cam lever appearance is on the inside angle of the Montana from either side when the Montana is angled from the TV at approximately more than 20 degrees and less than 70 degrees. Have any of you observed this issue with your Montana? I will continue the remainder of my inspection over the next two weeks. The dealership has and continues to be very cooperative.

Congradulations Brian and Cindy. That is a very nice looking unit. We just got back from Quality RV in Elk River where they told us our 3475 would be in any day now. Couldn't wait. We had to go inside one that they have on the lot and take measurements of drawers and cupboards etc. Now we are off to Lowes to look at shelving. Can't wait to get on the road. Where did you buy your 3500?

That is called 'scrubbing' and will always happen because the pivot point is right between the two axles. It is also occuring on the rear axle but in the opposite direction. It's much more noticable when you make a sharp turn. You'll see it more when you back, you're looking that way. Watch an 18 wheeler sometime when it makes a sharp turn, same thing. I don't like to make real sharp turns if I don't have to, I'll try to make a it in several steps if I can. It puts a lot of side pressure on the tires, axle assemblies and the spring hangers. We had a spring hanger break 3-4 times on our old 5er.

Congratulations on the new Montana, Brian and Cindy! Skip's explanation sounds right to me. I haven't really noticed it when off-level as much as when making a turn. First time I saw that I was sure there must be something seriously wrong. Sure looks bad but I guess it's necessary. Here's to years of fun and contentment with your new Montana.

Thanks to all for the congrats. Skip's explanation makes me feel more comfortable with the issue. Steve, I felt the same as you when I first observed the cam lever. I consider the issue resolved.
Once again, I have been a member of the MOC forum since Nov 2004 and consider the forum an invaluable resource of information fom all the members.
adelmoll, I'll send you a PM.

Bill,
I performed an initial PID at the dealer and will continue a more extensive one the next two weeks at home. The PIDs on the forum are excellent. Several little cosmetic issues, nothing major.
Good luck. We are very pleased with the unit.
