Awning Repair
Anybody had trouble with the electric awning coming in and out? Worked fine yesterday and today we have to give it a shove!

First thing I would check is the condition of your battery.

I spray a little light-weight oil or silicone on the moving parts to keep it operating smoothly. Mine tends to get slow when there is any resistance. It may help if you're not already doing it.

Ours has hung up twice during this heat wave. Storms at night cause me to pull the awning in and then the sun hits it before I put it out and I think expands the metal a little. I lube mine and it's only done it twice and both times it was already 90 and in the sun.

Mine now needs an assist, but it is due to the hardware being slightly racked to the left after my chance meeting with a very big metal sign in arkansas! On my list of things to correct. John

Silicone spray on the joints and make sure the arm locks didn't get tightened up.

You have to shove it to open or to close...which one or both?
