Electric Awning Lubrication?

I have a 2012 3455 SA with electric awning. Do we need to lubricate and if so how?

I lubed all the pivot points with some 3 in 1 oil and that seemed to help, it was starting to roll up slower till I did that,

I use either silicone spray or a dry lube on all moving parts except those containing plastic washers.

I use a TFE spray similar to lock lube. I no longer use the Lock ease.

Are there any lube points inside the tube that we need to be concerned with? Or just the joints?

For me it's just the joints.

Mine has always squealed when extended or retracted although it has operated normally. It is very noisy. I have lubricated the joints and pivot points, but still no decrease in the noise. That is why I question also if there are any internal bearings or other points that need attention. Anyone really know the answer to that question.

Believe it does require some lubrication but it is in the manual for the awning. We have a new one too.

Hey all
We used a produce called Trifold to lube. Some of my buddies used it on their fishing reels and they said it also works great in cold weather. I use it on almost everything with great results. It does not gum up.

Hey Jay,

Do you know what brand they are? I'll try to get a .pdf manual if I can get the brand and hopefully model from someone. We didn't get any literature on the awning with our unit.

Go to this site, http://www.dometic.com/enus/Americas...ation-Manuals/ ,expand the topic 'awnings', then click on 'power awning user guide', and this will give you the manual in pdf form.
