Thanks Ozzie

My favorite duck, nothing like sitting on a lake fishing and hear them calling. Have a buddy who can inanimate their sound and get them to answer back. hearing them call from one side of the lake to the orther makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. add a sunset and a molson and it doesn,t get any better.
Thanks Jon

Thanks Ozzie, I emailed it to my daughter. She loves anything to do with wildlife.

You're welcome guys...we love the Loons a lot too. It's one of the favorite things about going up to our lake property in northern Minnesota. We have had Loons nesting for several of the last few years and hear them calling very often. Sometimes I'll wake up at night and just listen...and it's the only thing you hear.
Last year we also had Bald Eagles going through one of their rituals right overhead. I think they may be nesting close by too.

Ozzie, I just read that Minnesota is now #1 with the Bald Eagle population. Hard to believe after seeing all those in Alaska but that is what they are saying now. We saw one flying over Lake Elmo yesterday.

Where up north is your lake property?

We are between the cities of Outing, Longville, and Remer. About 35 miles SE of Leech Lake, and an hour NNE of Mille Lacs. We are in a forest on a small quiet lake with no public access in an area of some very good fishing lakes. I caught my wall hanger just a few miles from our spot. 5th generation for my family and still going.
We used to run up there several times a season, but gas prices are prohibitive now, $175 for the weekend is too hard to swallow.

...the mosquitoes and black flies carry name tags...

Ozzie, Sue loves them, and introduced me to them, they make her homesick for the North country.

Know the area well Ozzie. We used to have clothing stores on the Iron Range and one of them was in Grand Rapids. I spent a lot of time in the area and I still have the mosquitoe bites to prove it.

Now if you can tell me where we can find some diamond willow trees, you will really be my hero.
