I desperatly need your prayers!
Paul has taken a turn for the worse. He was admitted into the ICU last night with MRSA sepsis. He has a really high fever and can't keep anything down. His urine is full of blood. The sepsis is in his blood now and they don't know if he can fight this. That is all they will tell me. I am asking for everyone's prayers. PLEASE! I am so scared. I have never seen him this bad. Kathi,
MRSA (methicillin resistant staphlococcus areus)is a common bacteria found basically everywhere. It is considered HA or CA, hospital acquired or community acquired. People with weakened immune systems are the ones most at risk. This bacteria is resistant to most antibiotics, thus the name. Vancomycin is the only drug we have that will kill MRSA, and some strains are becoming resistant to that.
It isn't suprising that Paul has developed this infection; it is rampant in hospitals, nursing homes, jails, etc. If I can answer any questions you might have, feel free to PM me. God bless you and Paul. We will Pray for the both of you tonight...
