Sunrise & Sunset in the Desert
While we've been tooling along on the Slow Road to Quartzsite we've been treated to an endless feast of sunrises and sunsets. I've posted a bunch on our blog and thought that I share a sunrise and sunset sequence from the same day (Jan 10th).
Sunrise
Sunset
The pictures don't do it justice but you can still get the idea.

Not right now in Portland, but other times of the year you can experience those sunrises and sunsets.

We always loved the sunrises and sun sets when we used to live in Kingman, AZ. Have to say though that we sure don't miss the heat of the summers there.

Thanks for the compliments.
I used a Nikon D6100 DSLR. Standard 18-55mm Lens with an adjustable Polarizing filter.
I use that lens combo for 90% of what I shoot. I have the camera set to shoot three shots and exposure bracket when I use the program mode.
I almost missed this sunrise. I was inside working on the computer and my wife who was in bed - called out to me to check out the sunrise.
Next thing you know I'm outside running around in my Boxers, socks, and t-shirt in 20 degree weather. Just a minute or two later the color had changed completely.
Good think I didn't run into a Cholla Cactus.

Thanks I have a D7000. Both nice cameras. Color like that don,t last long and you aren't going to get pictures like those setting inside or in the middle of the day.
