Thanks OZZ. I am looking at their WEB SITE. Which one do you have. It would be nice if a wireless set up would work ????

We have the 5.6 chnv from Rv cams..great folks to deal with. Have it attached to the top rung of the rear ladder..Our ladder on the 06 3400 is on the passenger side. Just did 1200 miles + works great, steady as a rock, can see the berm + on the right and 3 lanes of traffic on the left..Makes changing lanes really easy and much safer..makes a great rear view mirror. Only thing I would have done different was to get the 6.8 inch display if I had known it would fit in the slide out cup rack in the 05 F-350... This is a must have for us....

Sounds like this is MUST HAVE ITEM...if hard wired where do you run the wire so that it is hidden ??

In my old '04 TT, I mounted it on top, rear, drilled into my cabinet, down the corner under the frame up to the hitch area, will do the same with my Montana. Looks good when all finished.

Ok, I have seen the benefit of a rear camera in action...

While traveling last week, ran across a scene where bikes came loose and started dragging behind a camper. Since we always travel with bikes on the rear, this convinced me a rear camera is worth the investment. Now that I have it, suggestions on where to mount it? I would like to mount it center rear just above the center running light. Will the light cause a problem at night (the camera has night vision)? Ideas on where others mounted the camera on the back of your Montana?

Thanks, Tim

The location you mention would be the ideal location...however that was to much trouble for me I have it mounted on the top tung of the ladder(Mine is on the right side of the 3400) about 2 inches in from the left side support. I can see the berm on the right side and all lanes on the left including some medium.. It is a great add on...

See my post above, but now I have it mounted in the center, (Rich, it was a PITA! but it's there)
Lights don't interfere.
Good luck,
Ozz

I also bought my camera and LCD from Tim. Go with the color setup if you can afford it, the LCD screen is much thinner than the B/W setup. I mounted the LCD on the transmission hump, as far forward as possible. Also bought the tether cable that handles two cameras, cause you never know. Camera is mounted in the center, below the running light, at Tim's suggestion. Seems if you mount it above, you may see a lot of red light in dim conditions.

Sounds like the rear camera makes sense to add to the list of options to install. But how do you connect it up to the monitor in the tow vehicle if you don't use the wireless configuration?

Thanks as always, I will mount below the running lights in the center as suggested. I did get the LCD screen and was targeting a mount at the forward end of the transmission hump as suggested. As far as connecting it, I have two cables. One to run from the LCD to the truck bed with an aircraft style connector. A second to run down the Monty to the camera. I will tie wrap the connector to the existing Trailer wire and mount the connector in the truck bed next to the existing 7 wire harness connection I installed some time ago. Hopefully we get to this in the next few days

Thanks again, Tim

David, I drilled through, (I know, it hurt to do that) the center, top, into the cabinet, on into the second drivers side cabinet, down behind the curtain, out the corner that has the removable corner piece, under the Monte, all the way to the front, into the front hatch area, then along the trim and wire tied it to the umbilical to the truck bed. Under the truck and I drilled a hole right beside the plug-in for the lights. Whew!
Did the same on my last RV, the TT.
Love it, wouldn't tow without it. Tim, RV Cam, the color monitor.
Good luck.

being lazy here is what I did on the 3400.Cam on the top rung of the ladder. Tie wrapped the cable down the underside of the ladder and under the camper (used white same color as the camper duct tape for the short run from the bottom of the ladder to the underbelly. Ran the cable along the underbelly using Gorilla tape over to the right side propane hatch. The roof of the propane hatch is the floor of the bedroom under the dresser, Drill hole, feed cable along the wall into the closet. About the center of the closet is right over the hitch pin (we have the Mor-Ryde.( drill hole) cable is under the hitch pin where we store it when not in use. The short cable (25 feet ) goes into the truck.I found little rubber plugs all over the place in the F-350 and fed the cable up under the right side seat. The LCD display fits in the dash cup holder like it was designed to do so.. OZZ is very industrious and his is the desired installation..I thought about it..did the planning ..then went the lazy mans route..what can I say...
