Water Pump Question
2020 3121RL when we use the water pump if you run small amount of water out of any of the faucets or the toilet the pump kicks on but doesn't shut off. If you open a faucet again and let it run longer then shut the faucet off the system will re-pressurize and the pump will shut off. You can tell if the pump is going to keep running as it runs more quiet than if you run the pump longer. Any ideas on what is going on?

Does your pump come on sporadically? If so, you have a leak somewhere. If not, it sounds like you have air in your line and it is cavitation (pumping air and not water). Those pumps are self priming, so you may have a defective pump that is leaking around the self priming feature.

No, I have not heard the pump come on sporadically. Other than listening for the pump to turn on sporadically is there a better way to pressurize the system to check for any leaks?

Make sure your valve in the convenience center is not in the fill position.

Trevor,
As long as your pump is turned on the system should be pressurized. There is always a chance you have a bad pump. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to change.

Sounds like air in the lines somewhere. Does your camper come with a washer dryer hook up? If yours does and you do not have a washer and dryer, you may want to turn the hot and cold faucet on for a moment to let the air out. If you have an outside faucet, same thing. Turn the hot and cold on, let all the air spit out. To me, it sounds like air is trapped somewhere in the lines.

The camper does have washer and dryer hook ups. Didn't think to open those valves to let the air out...should have since I do open them to winterize with compressed air. I will try that the next time I have it out.

Bleed your low-point drains also.

Thank you everyone for all the help, will keep these things in mind for when it warms up here and we can dewinterize and take it out for use again.
