Thinking about some supplemental brake lights...

After some close calls pulling trailers, when I stopped and the driver behind me nearly didn't, I'm thinking about some sort of supplemental brake light back there.
The one's that intrigued me the most are the red LED horizontal strips that could be mounted right below the big rear window on my 3400RL directly at the following driver's vision height.
They offer not only brake lighting but turn signal flashing as well. Fully each half of the 5' strip flashes with the turn signals. Obviously, the entire strip length brightens with the brakes.
Has anyone seen this done on a trailer, or maybe has anyone done it yet?

I've been looking to for something else to put back there. Makes me nervous in heavy traffic cause I think those 2 little lights we have are bout worthless...

We changed our tail lights and back up lights to LED's . Made a huge difference. Took 3 screws out unplug, plug in the new LEDs put screws back in. They where $5.00 a piece at the salvage yard in IN. They are bright !

We changed our tail lights to LEDs and also added a strip to our generator carrier. Lots of light!

I am also going to replace my tail lights with LED's and I am also going to add strip LED's to the vertical area on the sides of my rear window. I almost always have a trailer behind me and with a 15" strip of LED's that you can see above the small trailer behind me, I will feel safer.

Perfect! Just what I have in mind! Where did you get it, and how much was it? Now, how do I get all the wiring to it on the back of my 3400rl and keep it clean looking. I have no idea how to get to the tailing wiring in this beastie.

Question Artemus: Is this the same as you have?:

http://www.amazon.com/Plasmaglow-105...DateDescending

I just looked at the Amazon reviews of this one, and there was 2 reviews that were 1 star and 4 that were 5 star. That's not a good ratio so far. How long have you had it?

It is the same one as Artemus' review is right there with the others. He purchased them on September 29, 2011 apparently.

I had a firestorm on my 06 truck. It lasted a little over a year when the LED's started dying.

Have had them on my 2003 for three years. Not a problem so far, even new owner says they are working fine!
