Who has replaced the cooling coil on Dometicrefrig

I've decided to replace the cooling coil in our Dometic NDR1062 refrigerator instead of replacing it with an ac home unit. For anyone who has done this repair, where did you get your cooling coil? I've seen it on Amazon and E-bay, but don't have enough info on the suppliers to feel comfortable. Thanks

I bought mine from RV Cooling Unit Warehouse, http://rvcoolingunit.com/ . The owner, Dave Force provided excellent support with installation documentation. Really not a hard job and I'm glad I stuck with the RV fridge just so I didn't have to modify the cabinets.

Not a hard job, but it has to be done exactly right, or failure will follow.

I've watched several of the videos, and so far it looks like the hardest part is getting the unit in place without messing up the mastic. Well, except for having the right tools, enough room to work, and someone to watch and tell you when you're about to screw up (not talking about the wife, here). It does look like having two people to maneuver the coil is an advantage, though.

Do not look any where but an arctic cold replacement unit. My Norcold 1210 died after a year and my rv tech recommended this replacement and it was more reasonably priced than you think. and its a heavier made unit with thicker tubes and heavier frame and now my fridge is set to #4 and its -4° to -10° below zero in the freeze. It has never been that cold even with it set to 9 and it would not freeze ice cream, Now No problem. and you do not have to send back the core to the manufacturer.

Thanks for the information about Articold, but they don't seem to have a good reputation with their customers. That leaves me a little cold, so to speak.

Did you have any delays in shipping or any difficulty in getting in touch with them either before or after the sale?

I got my replacement unit in less than a week, shipped on a pallet. My tech did all the talking to them but had nothing but good things to say and how very very knowledgeable the owner was about his product and the entire operation of a gas absorption refrigerator.

Refrigerator cooling unit from rvcoolingunit warehouse is installed and operational. Frame arrived damaged at top during shipment, which bent a bracket welded to tubing. Bob cut and reworked bracket rather than bending it and potentially weakening tubing. He also replaced screws holding cooling fins with stainless screws to eliminate rusting. Plan on new insulation around burner.
There were minor problems during both removal and installation that slowed the process down, but just frustrating, not serious. Fan behind refrigerator needs to be replaced, but can be done later.
Two people to handle refrigerator and install cooling unit very helpful, but not critical. YouTube videos were critical.
Return shipping was included, and there was a $100 core rebate, so cost was ?reasonable? (less than $500).
