Fireplace

The fireplace in my new 3750 has quit putting out heat. Anyone know how to remove it from surround? Thanks! LC

There are four screws in the corners of the fireplace. Remove them and slide the fireplace out.

Be sure and check all the wires even if nothing is obvious. Many have found loose wiring that either caused a problem or was going to.

Yep EEEEZZZPPEEEZZZEEE Vacuum the heck out of the inside and all around the controls/wires it does not take too much dust built up on them to make them quit working

I'm having the same problem with my 2011 5er. It works for about 1 min then cycles off. It's a Dimplex model. I'll attempt the same fix.

Yep Tsenoir we have cats and the sensors behind the control panel get clogged with fir ,dust etc...... I have to pull it out and Vacuum about 3 times a year and I'm getting pretty dang quick at it now and also when you have the panels off is a good time to replace any burned out light bulbs

Upon advise from this group we took ours out in this 2013 Big Sky .There was enough debris back there to start a campfire. We tightened and used a lot of tie wraps. My advise is to take it out and check it out.

We ordered our 3400 exactly the way we wanted it. After reading this, and other horror stories regarding the fire place, I'm glad we did not get one. Plus, when I replaced the HUGE oem TV with a flat screen, we picked up lots of storage behind the TV.

I have only heard of a couple of"horror stories" about a loose connections out of thousands and thousands of fireplaces, they just need to be cleaned every now and again(easy) and while you are in there just make sure the wires are tight and you are good to go, the newer fireplaces are awesome and provide good heat for us Fulltimers in the cold months and they look great on a cold winters night like a touch of home

We have no complaints about the heat we are glad we got the option although I was against it. It does a great job in heating the entire 3402 in moderately chilly weather. It was a mess behind the fireplace from the factory and I still suggest that it be pulled and checked out upon purchase. It was not all that bad on the first year maint checkout and nothing came loose.

I have to agree, the ambiance of the fire places is great. However, as far as heat goes, they are limited to 1,500 watts, just like all other portable heaters. I carry two Lasko towers, at 1,500 watts each, that I can move where ever I need them (bath area for showers), and don't lose the storage.

Ok, I pulled mine out. The fireplace has a complete enclosed metal frame. No exposed wires or anything else. So are you taking the metal frame apart to get at the wiring?

Yes Tons of little screws on the sides and top, start by turning it upside down and take the bottom panel off first that is where the temp/control conections/sensors are,use DUST-OFF to blow the dust out then Vacuum then put that back together then turn it right side up and take the top panel off and repeat it is a little time consuming at first time you do it but you get real fast at it after a few times TIP>>>>>> remember how the panels come off it is kind of like a little puzzle

Just need to be careful when removing the top panel. The squirrel cage fan assembly is screwed to the top panel and will drop loose if you remove the wrong screws. If I remember correctly, the screws holding the fan are bright finished, not black finished like the ones holding the panel.
