Musty smell in new trailer

Our trailer is a 2015 305RL Montana Hogh Country that we bought new in May 2016. During a 5 week trip to the Yukon and Alaska, the trailer developed a musty door that permeated clothes in the closets and dresser drawers. During this trip we did encounter rainy weather. Keystone has said that this is a "new trailer smell" and that it should disappear with ventilation. Clothes that were in the closets and dresser have been washed more than once and the smell still lingers in the washed items. We have been in conversation with Keystone and they have said that they will look for other solutions to the problem.
Has any one had a similar situation, and if so, what was done to alleviate the problem.

Gray water tanks produce a musky smell when not drained often enough. also recommend chemicals in gray tanks when being closed for extended periods.

We buy the cheap plastic moisture eliminators that you can get at a dollar type store.

Amazing how much water they collect. We use three at a time, one in the front closet, one in the bath and one in the living area.

The 305RL has washer/dryer connections in the front closet. If you aren't using the drain, be sure it has a cap on it. I don't think there is any P trap in this drain. Other than that, check the walls and floor for moisture caused by a leak somewhere.

We get that musty smell when we are at our site in Western Pa.Especially in the Closet and overhead compartments defanatly not coming from the tanks or washer.I have opened Closet doors and overhead compartments to allow AC and heat to circulate .That seems to have solved the problem.During Winter storage I leave all the doors open!

Never had this problem, and we've washer/drier prep. Something is not right if you do. Maybe the drain isn't capped, but I'd suspect a leak somewhere.

I wouldn't describe "new trailer odor" as musty. Something else is going on. Did you check for leaks? Sometimes car air conditioning develops an odor like dirty feet. Is it possible that condensate from the AC isn't draining?

Pour a little Pinesol into your washer drain

We have had the same odor, tracked it to the shower drain. I pour about 1 OZ tank treatment down the drain every other time the black tank is dumped/flushed. Seems to have fixed the problem.
