Pulling a boat behind a 3750fl

We have been pulling our 18’ boat behind our Excel 32’ FW. We would like to pull it behind our 3750fl. Has anyone been pulling a trailer behind their camper and if so had any issues doing so? I do realize we may be a little lengthy, but I think I could manage. Any ideas on hitch attachment points or bracing? We do have a class 2 hitch on the camper now.

I know there are places you CAN pull combinations, but after many years and many miles pulling all different combinations for work, with TRUCKS, there’s no way would I ever attempt it with a camp trailer. Not the way these things are built and certainly not with the brake systems they have. At the very least a full size trailer ‘Toter’ should be used, but imho not a great idea.

The receiver on the back of your 5er is only rated for 200#

I used to tow a 14’ behind my old 5th wheel. You can do that in Arkansas and I see it fairly frequently. As with most other states that allow it, your limited to 65’ and it is the one thing they will check!! When you are young two trailers you draw extra attention from law enforcement!

Michigan allows for 75' (wow) as I just got my 'R endorsement' for recreational doubles. The hitch I've seen added in the forums here is the Curt 13703 bolted on. The hitch is sitting in my garage awaiting better Michigan weather..

Steve, we're in the same area, so I know what you mean! Last week in Commerce Twsp. it was 77 degrees on Tuesday and 6" of snow on Friday! I was even using 4wd on M5 yesterday....Really?!! Lol

Every state has its own rules. Seems like the further east you go the stricter they get. Quite a few in the east will not allow doubles period.

Arkansas does not require a special liscence for anything RV related.

I built a custom hitch for my old trailer from heavy square tubing and it was tied into the main frame members. I had three receivers and put a piece of channel iron across them for a lightweight motorcycle.

I'm not familiar with how the frame on the 3750 is in the rear. This is what I put on our 3402. I am completely confident it would be adequate for a small boat. I modified the 2" receiver with the "x" braces. You can see my frame rail extensions that were welded to the frame at the factory to attach their 1-1/4" receiver which lasted one trip with a bike rack on it.

We were in Michigan in 2013 and I remember being passed my many 5th wheels with nice fishing boats attached. I drive 65 mph and I was passed like I was PARKED! I was constantly amazed. Everyone has a plan--I hope!

I got my last 5th wheel all set up to pull my Jeep. Went around the block a few times and have not hooked it up since. No problems but I just decided that having 4000 pounds hanging off the back was not for me. I have no plans to do it with the Montana.

Oregon will not allow unless you have no pickup bed . Just the fifth wheel plate ( no flatbed also).working brakes on each axle, licensed as truck and have a cdl with doubles endorsement. That is the only way you can and the truth is they really don't want that either.

This is some of the FEW things about Oregon I agree with. I don’t care what you build your hitch out of, if the materials between the hitches is tin foil and cardboard.
