Furnace and slides

We are heading south with our 2011 Montana 3400 for the first time this winter. We were wondering if we stop somewhere for a break if we can run the furnace without putting the slides out. Thanks.

Yes and no. We could on our 2010 because most of the furnace vents were at least half open with the slides all the way in. We can't with our new one because most of the vents are covered with the slides in.

Like said above check the floor vents with the slides closed.

A Big Buddy heater is your answer if vents are covered.

The furnace also works very well while you are traveling. We had one of those senior moments and forgot that the furnace was still on. It was nice and warm when we reached our destination. Having said that, we would not make a habit of it.

Our rig, very close to yours, has all the vents exposed when the slides are in, and in very cold conditions, we have traveled with the heater on to keep the plumbing from freezing, which works very well.
