trailer king/ good year tire

hello,
I thought I was getting good year tires on my new 2014 Montana, but it has trailer king on it. dealer said talk to the rep. i called the rep ( chris) from keystone. he said he asked all the people at the Montana ralleys on which tires they prefer and they said the good years were no good, to many problems. (I think they just wanted to put a cheaper tire on it)
so keystone changed to trailer king. i told him between my 2008 Everest that I just traded in and buying the new Montana I spent over $100,000 with keystone and I also would pay the differance to get the good year G rated tires, he said , I cant help you.
well so much for taking care of the customer. should I be worried about the trailer king tires?

I wouldn't worry about them I would change them to a LT or G tire.

It's true that at every rally the sentiment was that keystone should dump the Goodyear marathons ( also known as china bombs). It is not true that the group thought they should be replaced with another cheap crappy brand, but that's what keystone did.

Incredible. I had to take my Marathons to the local GY dealer today and have them inspected to determine value towards G614's. The tire guy took one look at the one with the bubble (previous posts) and said that a steel belt inside the tire must have broken. These tires have less than 2000 miles on them. I won't know 'til Monday what kind of value I'll get for the new tires, but good riddance. I can't believe Keystone would listen to the folks who buy their products and then try to cheap out on a fix for an obvious problem. If they're so warm and fuzzy with E rated tires, why do they put 110 psi rims on these rigs? I know it's all about the bottom line, but look what GM is going thru right now. What's another grand or so added to the price of these trailers? Look what so many of us have had to do after the fact. Ridiculous.

Things like this are probably why you see so many "SOB posts" ya think? "The number 1 selling 5th wheel for the last 11 years" could become a thing of the past if they are not careful! We want the best when we spend our money for something and when you have to constantly read about something as simple to "fix" as tires it makes you wonder, doesn't it? This website tells the whole story albeit some differing opinions but the tire problem persists, come on keystone "gitter done" and eliminate this problem!

Montana used an off brand called "Tacoma" for a few years and they were a good tire with few complaints, hopefully your Trailer Kings will be the same.

I agree Charlie, the Tacoma tires were pretty good. I had mine for 5 years before replacing. I know three other Montanas with them that went longer. I don't know about Tacoma being an off brand or not. They were manufactured by Cooper Tires here in the USA. Where they really differ from today is they were LT tires. Shortly after 2006, Montana shifted to ST tires and so begat the Mission tire horror stories.

thank you for all your replies. I think I will keep an eye on these tires and see what happens. I have the TST507 tire sensors on them , i think the sensors will let me know if a problem should happen. thank you again.
