WOW! Glad we're not going south right now

We are in N. Lower Mich 3 counties SW of the Mac bridge. This had better change before we run that I-75 corridor from N MI to Central FL. Highest priced stretch in the US right now.

We are running our car and truck (diesel) down to FL this year, so both gas and diesel prices will be important to us.

Dave, Heard bits and pieces, on the news tonight, that the Attorney General of Michigan is investigating at least 19 stations in the greater Detroit Metro area for GOUGING, since Ike.

You probably cannot see it, but, I am running around doing a bit of a happy dance!

Greedy buggars!! be danged!

Diesel prices are starting to get to where they were when we left for Flordia last year...This is good for our budget as we had budgeted 5.00 per gal for diesel Of course we are also driving the Honda down so there goes any savings.

Diesel is at $3.899 here in Omaha right at numerous locations! The postings have not caught up yet on the website! If I wasn't so busy with putting up 350 acres of prairie hay, I might have taken off with the Monty and met everyone in Indiana! I guess my nephew's wedding takes first priority. Hopefully next year we'll be able to make the Rally and meet all you MOCrs.

Prices are really, what the traffic will bear! On our trip to Portland, Or. We stopped at the Indian Casino on 101 at Potlach, Wa.
$3.85. The Casino in Shelton, about 20 miles down 101, $4.29.
We paid $4.09 in Portland area. On trip back: Shelton was $4.19. We got it in Potlach again: $3.72 for both Diesel and Regular Unleaded??
A Logging Truck Driver, who was filling up, said he drives up from Shelton, since this Casino opened, because he saves alot on 300 gal fills!

We just got back from a 4700 mile trip and we paid a low as 3.83 and as high as 4.92 in a two week period. There is no rhymn or reason to the pricing. The only station in Medora, ND had the highest. Five mile down the road it was almost a $1 a gallon cheaper. It would be more believable if it weren't for the large discrepancy in pricing.

Just went from Alabama to Texas and diesel was a high in Ala of $4.05 to $3.95 in Texas. This was down from a previous trip in July stopping at the same stations which had diesel as high as $4.89. So, the pricing is all over the map, regardless of the weather, sun, moon, and stars.

I have been using gasbuddy.com site for a long time, as have many other MOCers. I have never seen this configuration of red color before. Hard to understand how a hurricane in the Texas Gulf Coast could produce a pronounced stressed market running from the UP of Mich to FL, compared to everywhere else in the US.

That gives "red states" a whole new meaning. Diesel is $4.00 +/- .02 here. Did not rise much due to the hurricane, but gas went up by 20 cents or more.

That afore mentioned "market stress" is a euphemism for greed.

Absolutely, Stiles. Probably should have said "consumer stress"...

Price of oil up over $104 today. Reading an article by some financial Wall Street author stating how happy he was to see an oil bull market again where traders and investors could start making money again in oil. What?

This shows how disconnected these guys have become from reality and the hardships the regular Joe on the street. Rooting for oil prices to go up? These guys should be declared public enemy # 1. Unbelievable.

Only "D" price I saw today was $4.29

Gas was pretty much the same all over Adrian (where the lowest prices are), $3.82 and 3.83

Out in the boonies, I saw 2 stations priced at $3.89, still in Lenawee County.

article in yesterday's paper, showing the gas lines and talking about the Michigan State police turning in a few of the stations for gouging. Fine if found guilty is $25,000.00.

Let that settle out Dave..Nothing has changed from a week ago the economy is still in the dumps and will be a long time coming out.The average guy who lost his house, job and if he had any money invested lost most of that due to miss management by the fund managers...is not going to go out and begin spending money because the Government bailed out the very folks that caused the problem.
