My fridge is on the recall list(darn)and I cleaned that up(lol)O well.My local Camping World store is a service center.so thats a good thing. Was going to have them do some other stuff to my Montana,so I`ll kill 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak.

I realy think the chances of something happening is slim to none but better to be safe then sorry.

Ours is on the recall list as well. It will just be a peace of mind to have it taken care of. On their website they said you could run the fridge on electric but not while you're sleeping or away from your rv??? Huh?

it sounds like it effects the years 1997-2003, so we should be OK.

We just got our recall notice today, this affects refrigerators manufactured between April 1997 and May 2003. It also says you may get 2 notices, one from dometic and on from Keystone. Another way to tell if your refrigerator is affected before getting the notice is to go to http://www.dometicusa.com/recall.php and put in your model and serial number. It also has information on do's and don'ts until you can get it repaired. The big don't is don't operate the refrigerator on gas and suggest closing the gas valve until the repair is done.

Sometimes this almost full-timing isn't what it's cracked up to be. We have been having problems with our health insurance for the last two months and now find that our refrig is on the recall list. We don't plan on being home until May so hopefully we can get it taken care of on the road in Florida in April. Oh yes, we also had the crappy AL-KO axles and because we were two months beyond the warranty when we discovered the problem they only replaced the axles and we were stuck with paying for the four new tires and labor. Today's companies only care about the bottom line and once you have purchased their products they will do anything not to deal with any problems with their product. Enough venting, still love life on the road in our Monty.

I received the Dometic Recall Letter and was glad to see that I wasn't affected by it. One less thing to worry about. Now if they would only recall the Apollo ovens???????

Just got mine! My question is what does this mean? 5) The rework kit will be available April 16, 2007. At that time, call your preferred service center to set up an appointment. For help in locating a service center, or for the most up-to-date recall information call 1-888-446-5157. My question is what comprises the "rework kit"?

Someone on the goodsam forum said that the fix is some type of shield so if the boiler breaks it won't catch on fire.

Mine is on the list.

Well, thats not too comforting as it does nothing to prevent the failure. Thanks,
Chuck

got the recall notice. checked the model and serial #'s. Yup my fridge is on the recall list. called dometic and got automated information that we were on the list. they said to call back monday when they are open for business. I think you need more than a shield. they sent some pictures and it looks like pipe has to be replaced.

Sounds like Ford and the Pinto problem, a .50 cents fix to see if it works properly.
it seems that most manufactures skimp here and there and we are the ones that have to take time off to fix there mistake.

We got our follow up letter from Dometic stating that the recall kit would be out in mid-April and we could then contact our dealer/repair center and they can get the parts and fix the problem.
