We have never stored ours. When not on the road it is here on our property with full hook ups. We normally leave the slides out for easy access to the interior.

We also have a great place next to the stick house to store ours. We have full hooks ups so most of the time slides out.

Our 2011 3455sa spends its idle time in a pole building with the slides out. Has never seen a drop of rain or flake of snow while idle.

If the camper will is stored in side you can leave the slides out. If outside leave them in. There is much less chance of a water leak.

Always in, and be sure to clean off the slide roof first so you dont drag in a bunch of sticks or leaves, which once inside seem to get on the floor

When we are not on the road ours stored at home with the slides in. Having them in during the winter results in less cubic footage to keep warm and dry. If I need to do something in the coach when not on the road, I just open the slide(s) that give me access to the area where I plan to work.

Slides in. Why expose the roof and rubber seals to UV damage, dirt and grime? Makes no sense.

I sure agree on this we have 3 hookups and one 50 ft extension cord so ours is always plugged in.

We keep the slides in as much as possible and after 9 years our large black rubber seals are still in very good condition. We are just now beginning to have trouble with the little strip seals that are against the side of the trailer when the slides are in but they are easy to change.

I store mine next to my house and the slides are out from the first trip to the last. When we get it winterized and park it for the winter the slides are in. So for those that have your slides in, what do you when you're at a CG for a long stay, do you put the slides in or leave them out during your stay? I get your camping, but for "why expose the seals to the sun, dirt, debris, etc." isn't a valid point since the the same thing happens when camping for long periods of time.

"since the the same thing happens when camping for long periods of time." Well of course it does. But, obviously it's about minimizing the harmful exposure to the elements. There's a big difference between opening a trailer up for use vs. Storage. It's just like putting something between the tires and the concrete as recommended by the tire manufacturers: I certainly don't bother when I'm using the trailer, but I sure do it when it's parked in storage. But hey, that's just my personal logic.

In storage, when not in use, our slides are in. The roofs of the slides will remain cleaner. If your RV is subject to any high winds or storms while in storage, it will have a better chance of surviving with less damage with the slides in. If there is any reason you would need to use it during the winter and it is stored where snow and ice can get on it, you'll want the slides in or you may have trouble closing them if ice accumulates on top.

If your slides are hydraulic, storing them with the slides in will have less of the cylinder piston exposed to the atmosphere and subject to rust.

Full timer here and the slides are out 24/7. I just place a light coat of grease on the slide rams to keep them rust free and our unit sits on blocks and tires are hanging with covers on them. But if a hurricane comes, were ready to roll in about 8 hours.

we store slides in, after a learning experience.
when we first got the 5th wheel we left the slides out. easy to get things and just sit in it. as it is stored next to our house.we were packing up December 2016 to head to Arizona. had a little rain then a little snow then a cold front YIKES everything froze on top of the slides and it was 2 days trying to get all the frozen water off the slide, and yes I ran the heater 24/7 to try and melt it from inside what a major pain. lesson learned
