Montana newbie

Hi Everyone,
We are new to this forum as we bought our first Montana Fifth Wheel at the end of June and we are learning all the functions and peculiarities of this unit. It is a 2018 3931FB and we have spent seven nights in the unit so far and as with anything mechanical there is always an opportunity to learn along the way.

We are not new to the RV/camping scene as we purchased our first camper in 1976 and have had numerous styles and types and waited until early 2017 to try the fifth wheel style RV. We have had pop-ups, travel trailers, Class C, and a couple of Class A type units along our journey.
So far so good on the fifth wheel style as I was very happy with how a 36' unit handled last year when we headed to New Mexico for a week and took a northern route home stopping in four more states before making our way home. Our Montana is a bit longer but handles nicely on the road.

I look foward to being a part of this forum and hopefully we can pick up some knowledge along the way!

Hi BrownBear,

We bought a Montana 3931FB in April. This is our first camper so we have a lot to learn. I do have a question for you. Your half bath sink, can you wash your hands without touching the sink basin? When we wash our hands in our sink the faucet was set too far back and you have to touch the basin to wash and rinse your hands.

Keystone says it is not a design flaw and wont fix it. I don't think they totally understand what I am explaining.

Not shocked they don’t understand the issue as the photo on the floor plan differs from how our faucet is installed. Our faucet is installed on the left end of the sink and due to bowl configuration the spout barely clears the cabinet. My cure, as I could not bear another discussion with a customer no-service rep, was a $25 faucet set with a higher and longer spout. Ten minute job and less hassle than trying to convince them of the flaw. Hope this helps.
Forgot to mention that the repair was faster if I did it and didn’t spend three hours on the road plus fuel to take to dealership.
Be safe and enjoy your travels!

I meant clears the sink edge.
The picture on website does not match where the faucet is located in our unit.
Sorry for my error!

I spent about an hour today shopping for and installing a new Delta faucet in the half bath in my 2014 3402RL. In my unit the faucet was located under the medicine cabinet and too far from the sink to get my hands under it to use. We bought the unit two years ago and I am just getting to this modification. Yes , it is a design flaw and a bad one. Keystone designers and engineers should be required to live in these for month or more before beginning production.
