TV Reception

I am having problems with TV reception in my new 04 Mountaineer. When using the antenna, the reception is extemely poor to nil on both TVs with the booster on or off. I checked the connectors at the booster, antenna and both TVs. If I remove the connector and only connect the center wire of the coax at the antenna, the bedroom TV is clear but the living room TV is bad. I then put the connector back to normal at the antenna and removed the connector on the coax where the living room TV plugs in the cabinet. That made both TVs clear. My feeling is the coax is getting grounded somewhere or something is not wired correctly. I hooked up a VCR to the outside cable port, put in a movie (Top Gun)and hit play. The living room TV had jets flying loud and clear and the bedroom TV was a little fuzzy. Any thoughts?
