At Camp Keystone(complete)

Arrived this afternoon, traffic on 80 sucked, took over an hour to go 10 miles past Joliet. Anyway we are here boosting wifi off Micky D's since Hughes has once again taken a dump. That system is now officially retired. 3G store here we come.. Rig should go in first thing in the morning and while it is in I will take the time to go visit the RV Surplus toy store. If all works out we should be home on Thursday or Friday. YAY! Will post again tomorrow..

Tuesday 25 June 2013
They took the rig in and tore the nose shell off. They removed the whole closet and rebuilt a new one. The replaces 46 inches of rubber and rehung the kitchen ceiling panel that started to fall on the way here. Once again Keystone comes through in spades. We head home in the morning. We will spend our last night on the road in Edgerton Wisconsin at Hiddel Valley CG. Thursday will be an easy 200 miles. Looking forward to parking for awhile and unwinding.. What a season this has been...

The nose is off the rig, they are rebuilding the closet and doing the roof I guess. We had hellasious storms last night. Rained horizontally and we had our very first slide leak because it blew under the slide topper and at about 70 mph. There was water dripping on the dining table and Betsy's computer. I got the computer to a drier area before it got very wet. Leak was right on the seam between ceiling and facia board. They said they will check that today too. More storms today. Luckily we were nose to the storm, it came right out of the west. We might have been on our side if we had parked 90 degrees to either side. Just after we got back from the surplus store who should drive up but Aram. He is over at Coachman now and looking forward to stopping over at the rally to say hi. Betsy just left to go tour the thrift shops so I might see here around Friday.

Glad you made it thru the storms. We had the same thing here. 1:30am thunderstorm warning with winds in excess of 80mph, 2:45am thunderstorm warning with winds in excess of 60mph. No hail this time luckily. Only have to make it to Friday before the storm shelter is installed.

There's not time to unwind sir! Yu got to finish that deck!

Glad to hear that the Montana is fixed and now dry!

Enjoy the resting time at home, you and Betsy definitely need/deserve it.

What a trip you have had...

This is good news, we kinda listen and watch you old-timers so we will know what to expect from Keystone in our future.

We spent 41 days at Kamp Keystone and still have a problem with our front closet coming apart from something. Maybe frame flex, although it was looked at a couple of times. That being said, we have an email from Carmen telling us they will take care of this problem. So, 4 years out of warranty and Keystone is standing behind their product. Pretty damn good, in my opinion.

Dave I am really glad to hear that Keystone stepped up to the plate and took care of the issue. I hope this is the end of the bad luck for you.

Dumb question, where is "Camp Keystone"? We are hoping to make it to the Rally this September and have talked with the folks at the repair facility. Need to have some body repair as well as a few other issues.

It's the factory. They have four (I think) hook ups for people who have to stay there when they are having work done on their trailer. If you want to get the work done around the time of the fall rally, better call NOW because it fills up quick.
