Ford matching GMC rebate...oh no! I can't resist
Saw an add on TV last night announcing Ford was matching the GMC rebate program until 8/1. I'm afraid I can't help myself as I'm addicted to Ford 350s. Somebody help me! Please!

Well, though it might be a tad difficult on the wallet, they are very nice trucks, so it isn’t the worst thing in the world!

No help here.I got the Ford in my Signature via the friends and family plan (the X plan) In march of this year. The sticker on the truck was 41425.00 the X plan price was 34,448.08 and also the Ford 2500.00 rebate which took it down to 31,948.09.Got a good price on my 96 Silverado so it was a deal I could not refuse. Did not get the Ford Diesel for my own reasons but at the price I got the Ford for I can get the diesel in a couple of years(If Ford has one worth buying) and not take a real big hit.(i can get the x plan again) all you need is to know a Ford Employee or retiree. I wish we had a Dodge plant around here and knew a Dodge employee so I could get their plan..The Cummings diesel is the only way to go. There IS rumor that Ford MAY put the cummings diesel in the 250/350..wouldn"t that be nice????

Just making sure I understand this thread, is Ford allowing "employee prices" on their trucks like Chevrolet has been offering?

Can't remember the exact words of the commercial but the jest of it was they were matching the GMC discount. I have a call into my Ford dealer to find out how it works.

This is correct with the Ford..Check the Ford web site for detials..for a Diesel add about 3,000.00 to the X plan price quoted in my above post..actually less than 3,000.00 as I remember. Don't know hat the additional incentives are now I got 2500.00 in addition to the X plan price..

GM hasn't extended their offer to Canadians yet. Ford and Chrysler have the GM USA offer available in Canada also.

Steve I know the feeling. I too am a Ford truck junkie. I just got a new one back in February. I traded in a perfectly good 2000 Ford 7.3L for the smell of a new truck. I had a super cab and did get the crew cab...which I do like very much. Hang tough, but be aware you can't fight it too long. I know from experience.

According to the following article, we are only getting approximately $400-$500 more off deals prior to the great "employee discount" offer. A good or informed negotiator could probably get the same or better deal than the employee discount as currently offered. Taking away the previuos increased cash incentives and the dealers hold back etc.. the dealers are actually coming out OK on this deal.

SteveS, I also know the feeling but didn't have the benefit of any special pricing. We had the 2003 F350 and wanted a Crew Cab, with growing granddaughters. We went to the 2005 F250 which is more truck than even the F350 we had. Ratings are considerably higher. I mean way higher. The frame, the new frontend on the 4x4, the bigger brakes, the heavier springs, etc., etc. I was in love. Go for it. The 7.3 is an excellent, proven engine but when you tow that monster with the 6.0 you are going to experience what the magazines say about it. You will not believe how well it tows. Uphill, downhill, wherever. And, in my opinion, you won't need an exhaust brake. We just towed I90 through Wyoming into Utah, I84 to I15 and north into Idaho then took US 93 through Idaho to Missoula, MT. We're towing 14,360 lbs and the ONLY times it didn't hold the speed was when I decided to brake so we wouldn't run off the road as we approached those sharp curves. I know I'm gushing but that's how I feel about how this truck tows this rig. The magazines are correct.

GM just announced that they are doing the same in Canada now. So all the big 3 have the rebates.

richfaa,
Cummins in a F250/350 - not gonna happen anytime before 2008. That's when Dodge's exclusive contract with Cummins to use the 5.9L ISBe engine in 2500/3500 trucks expires. Of course, you can get the Cummins in a Ford now, you just have to upgrade to a F650/750. After 2007 it's a crapshoot, Damiler makes some very good diesels that would work nicely in the Ram truck, not to mention they also own Detroit Diesel. One wonders how long they will continue using "out of house" engines in the Dodge. Recently they replaced the time tested NV5600 6 speed manual tranny with a Daimler G56 unit. Handwritting on the wall ???
