Get Mountaineer back next Wed.

I left my Mountaineer at the dealer for warranty work 8 weeks ago Tuesday. Finally getting it back. A few things Keystone would not cover. The microwave is mounted at an angle and slopes forward so the glass tray bounces out when traveling. Not too big an issue. The pull out drawer beside stove below the counter had the cover face (not sure what to call it) installed at an angle. The dealer didn't take a very good picture for Keystone, so I can kind of see the rejection. Anyway, the top of the cover is centered and the bottom is about 1 inch off center. The opening kind of peeks thru a little at the bottom. I may fix it myself if there is much of an opening. They did fix the rails. The opening which has the outer rails attached is about 1/2 inch wider than the rails attached to the drawer, so the tension kind of pulls the rails off.
The biggee is the bedroom slide. I had it apart installing an inverter and noticed the plywood floor part that slides was getting chewed up by the metal slide tubes as it went in and out. There was at least one piece of plywood (sliver) about 4 inches long and 1/4 or 1/2 inch wide. Much sawdust. Not enough clearance between floor and slide rail. Wonder how it is supposed to be mounted???
Finally now I get back to all the 'improvements' you need to do on a new trailer.

Wrap your microwave glass tray in a towel and turn it upside down inside the microwave when traveling.

Glad you are getting these items repaired, there always seems to be something that needs attention, at least this will get you caught up.

We have the same problem with the drawer unit next to the stove. The rear bracket where the slide rails are attached was off centre so the drawer kept opening when travelling and rails would pop off. The dealer adjusted the rear bracket and installed 2 more rails on the bottom of the drawer so it is more stable but now they noticed that the face of the drawer is not mounted straight as you described. They have ordered a new unit for installation when we return from our snowbird trip, which will be April. Till then we just don't use it very much.

Cut a swim noodle piece a 1/2" longer then the space between microwave roof and glass plate, insert before travel, it will hold it in place.

We bought our '14 3150RL in May '13. It has never sat for 30 days with out being used. 8 weeks at the dealership, there is no way that would work for me. And stuff still is not repaired. That is totally unacceptable.

We do not full time, but we camp at least 1 week monthly April, 2 weeks May, 2 weeks June, all of July, August, 1 or 2 weeks Sept, 1-2 weeks October and then 5 months November-March.

We bought it to use. And we do. Building a product and then expecting the owner to let someone else fix what they did not do right when they built the product. Just not right.

This why I have a Honda (made in Japan) and a RAM truck. At least the RAM was assembled by Mexicans with their own Union in Mexico.

Send that suggestion to Keystone and they can do that at the factory instead of installing it correctly. It is just a minimal problem

I agree. 8 Weeks and that's all they had to work on. Really! What about those of us who full time?

2 month for repair is the reason I was okay when my one year warranty expired and why i've done what I can by myself. Including remounting my microwave since they didn't bother to actually mount it to the wall just the upper cabinet and all but one bolt ripped out leaving it hanging by a thread.. Hope the GS policy approval process makes things move a bit faster should I need anything major done.

More news - a little late. When I picked it up, they gave me a new power cord since mine had sort of come apart at the inlet plug. I stepped it off as I wanted to make sure it was the same length and it 'seemed' 25 ft. I was pretty sure my old one was 30 ft. Get home and try to hook it up and it WAS 5 feet short (I can just reach the house with the original). On top of that it had a strange generic plug that was supposed to 'snap' on or such and not (mostly) waterproof. In addition I took it in with the 50 to 30 to 15 amp adapters on the old cable. Guess what they didn't put back in the trailer. So I couldn't even check out any electrical stuff. I had to run the truck to charge the batteries.
At least the service rep was nice and said he would order a factory cable (which is in now) and he would even deliver it near where I live so I can skip the 110 mile round trip. However, it didn't come in until last Friday and he is on vacation most of this week, so we will see if he delivers it. Hope so, since it is kind of a long drive for a power cord. Next problem will be to see if it is 30 ft. long.

Orangewood RV in Surprise, Az. Not sure they are too bad. I told them I was in no hurry to get it back. They were maybe a little slow sending in the info to Keystone because of that. They did fix most things that were okayed. If I get the right power cord, I will be satisfied - not thrilled - but okay.
