A tribute to our co-pilots

When traveling our highways and by ways, a co-pilot is a must, the many complex city exchanges, merges, ramps, and approaches, yes San Antonio, I am talking about you, are quite simply mind boggling.
Where would we be without our co-pilots? When we need a Coffee refill, need to know how many miles it is to the next Bladder break, or would like a Fig Newton from that out of reach cookie package, we rely again on our co-pilots.
When making camp and maneuvering into our space, there they are, flashlight in hand, making sure we don’t back over another picnic table.
At the end of our traveling day, she sits with the lap top, Trailer Life directory, Next Exit, Cell Phone and Wal*Mart Atlas, all balanced on her lap, deciding where we are to stay, how much the rates are, and if they have cable, and WiFi.
On long trips, they keep us alert, listen to our stories they probably have heard many times, and calm us when we rant and rave about careless drivers, when we run into heavy traffic.
I dedicate this Homage to my sweet wife and co-pilot, Sue. I shall endeavor to be all that she thinks I am.

Ozz,

What a great post about your lovely bride. I think you have posted what alot of MOC members think about their co-pilots, but you put it in words. I know I can't imagine my lifes journey without my co-pilot.

Very well put Ozz, and don't forget, they are not afraid to ask someone for directions when I have gotten us hopelessly lost.

WHOA Phill, You admit to gettin lost? I may get slightly disoriented but never lost. At least I wouldn't admit it.

Great post Ozz.

Lorraine's only problem is reading a map. About the time she's figured it out and is telling me which ramp to exit I am passing it at 65MPH.

And I gotta agree with.."I know I can't imagine my lifes journey without my co-pilot."

Glenn,
Thank you, all of you guys, (when I am not working on something on the road), I write short stories about our experiences and travels, I may try and find a publisher some day.
Glenn, I notice you have Good Sam's road policy, could you give me some insight on it?, we may not have the coverage that we need, I think you stated it wasn't too expensive.
Thanks, Ozz

Well Glenn, maybe it is an old age thing. Man I can get lost just backing out of the driveway.

Nice post Ozz...
If it wasn't for my co-pilot, I may not be as interested in RV'ing.
How much fun is it without someone to share it with?

Oh...and I've been told I could hide my own Easter eggs...

Ditto on the value of the Co-Pilot. however I am the co-pilot a great deal of the time. I will admit that Helen is a much better map reader and GPS operator that I am but I ..who drive a bus, am not real fond of driving. We usually share 50/50 most of the time. I feel better with her navigating because i can be sure of where we are going.

Vicki is very helpful and is quite quick finding things in Next Exit and the Truckers Friend.

Ozz, GS road service is about $100/yr for the second and subsequent years. First year gets a lower introductory rate. It's worth every penny. They know what equipment it takes to handle your fifthwheel and your truck.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!
