Selling Out

We have been thinking about selling our Montana for awhile now and finally made the final decision. It was not an easy decision, but circumstances change.

We began researching large fivers back in 2012. We had never owned an RV but we wanted to sell our home and try full time traveling. From our years of extended stays on our 40' boat we knew living in an RV would probably be an easy transition for us, and it was.

After deciding that a Keystone Montana was one of the better values on the market we purchased our first one from a private owner. We joined the MOC and began our education along with our full time experience.

In just over two years we traveled through 26 states and traded for a new model along the way. It was an experience we will never forget. Having the support of the MOC and the advise of the experienced members here was extremely valuable to us.

But now we have gone back into a home. I can't hardly stand it if I am not riding my Harley every day, and our visits north will work better in a Class C.

If and when our Montana sells I will change our status here. I still want to visit the site that has become an important part of my RV life. Thanks to everyone here that has made this a wonderful valuable experience for Cindy and I.

Good luck. I have a class C it's nice but I don't like it very much. I just doesn't drive a truck and my Montana. It just isn't a 5'er but sometimes you just gota do what you gota do. In my case my wife can't ride in the truck. Like I said good luck I hope you like a MH.

My Goldwing is the only thing we really miss in this lifestyle. Good luck in the future and stay in touch.

The only way to know for sure if the lifestyle works for you is to do it. Having done it you know from experience what worked and what did not work and will now make the adjustments. That is the way it should be done. As Spock would say "live long a prosper"

Sorry to hear this news Joe but understand completely. Hope you both are having a great time with the house and your friends down south. Maybe we will run into you guys again sometime when we head down that way.

Thanks to all. We will give this direction a try. I figure with a 26' to 30' Class C equipped with a gen set we can stay at some state parks and maybe even dry camp once and awhile. Even pulling my trike trailer a rig like that would seem pretty small. Another advantage is that if a hurricane ever chases us out of Florida we will always have a "tiny house" to escape in. Right now our Montana sits in the north and we use it like a stationary apartment for visits.

Our MH is 32 feet with 2 slides. When were were looking we liked the Jaycos the best and could get a 32 foot one with 2 slides for 70, new. We kept our HC. It wasn't worth but about 25 so we just kept it.

Life changes, Joe. Glad you have been an active part of our community. Best of luck with the sale and search. With a boat, an RV and a UTV we find ourself sometimes taking two vehicles. But, we love our Montana as we travel. You need to do what works for you.

Yeah, Joe, just turning the page. Life evolves and nothing is forever. I'll miss your input here, but maybe not so bad if you're gonna drop in once in awhile. In the 3+ years I've been a member, a lot of members have moved on. Best wishes with your new chapter and hope to hear from you from time to time..

We purchased in the NE corner of Cape Coral last year. Out of season we can drive to several beaches in under 30 minutes. During season....well you just have to be patient...
