GoodSam GPS by Rand Mcnally at Camping World

Does anyone have some hands on experience with this specific GPS sold only at Camping World? It is model number 7735. It is very interesting because you can define the dimensions of the trailer and the GPS is supposed to guide you around low clearances. Also preloaded with all Good Sam campgrounds. It sound too good to be true.

It's not unique. Rand McNally RV GPS's and the Rand McNally app for iPad do all the same things except mine uses the Allstays campground lists. You can also add your own lists. We've use both the GPS and the app since they were first available and since we overnight a lot, mine point out Walmart's that allow parking, flying J's and other things it's let me add. I wouldn't travel without them. There are other brands out there, but these work for me in the way I want them too. This will give you some idea of what else they make: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_...nid=2528832011

We have the 7735 and use it while RVing and in our car when at the stick house and can switch back and forth with 2 or 3 screen clicks. We particularly like the speed warning feature and we set it for 6 over and can quickly get back down to within 5 of the limit.

I've used the 7735 for a couple years. It does warn about low overhead, sharp curves and steep grades. It gets lost occasionally.

Hi Bob,

We have had both the Good Sam 7725 and the 7735 RM GPS, Actually had two of the 7735 (one was stolen in Houston). The new 7735 is much faster and has a brighter screen than the old 7725.

I also have experience with the Garmin 760RV. I like the Rand McNally better. There are more features and it seems to do a better job of routing than the Garmin with my settings. However, the Garmin screen is a bit brighter. The 7735 ETA estimates are pretty much dead on the way we travel and it is adjustable if you drive faster or slower than we do.

We currently have the Rand McNally 7730. This is the EXACT same unit as the Camping World / Good Sam 7735. Camping World currently has the Good Sam 7735 on sale for $250! That is a STEAL of a price, get one on order now while they are on sale.

Another option is the new Rand McNally Tab 80. Its an Android based table with the Rand McNally 7730 software installed. Not my preference at $500, but an option and gives you an 8" screen and full Android OS.

Like I said, if your considering an RV GPS, hands down the best deal (and I think the best unit) is the Camping World 7735 for $249

Dave

We have the 7735 and use it on both RV and vehicle settings. We really like it. In addition from POIFactory.com, you can down load thousands of Points Of interest from all over the country for many different things. Pretty cool!
