Salton Sea

After spending a wonderful few days with Jack and Terry (Jjackflash) in Hesperia, CA we donated some funds to one of the Casinos in Indio. Then on to Fountain of Youth Spa and RV Resort. It is a wonderful CG. But I'm a bit worried as the lady at the checkin cabin mumbled something about missing the wind! Anyway it is gorgeous! And once again we have already met some great folks. Our neighbor came over and helped us setup! He would not take "no thanks" for an answer. He is from our neighbor country to the north. So off to the dog walk! If you're in the area drop by and say hello. We're here until Saturday the 14th. Dennis and Mary Kay

Dennis, we were on the East side of Salton Sea last year. Really liked it. Are you then on the West side?

Dennis, that CG has the most friendly folks around. Yes the wind can blow. I am sure by the time you read this you will have been in one of the hot pools. There is so much that goes on there one could stay all season.

Grampachet,
This is our first time to this CG and we are loving it. They start friendly at the front gate and it just continues. Sorry you won't be here until April but I'm sure we'll be running into each other somewhere down the road.... We look forward to that meeting. I like your Mountain Meadows picture. That may have been the spot we were in.

Mina,
We are on the East side. We're about 15 miles north of the town of Niland. The weather is beautiful. Hope it stays that way! But I must say the Hwy 111 is the worst road we've traveled on! Thought my scooter was gonna "scoot" thru the windshield!

Dick and Toni,
We have not yet made it to the hot pools yet. We did take the boys to the nice dog run and they met some nice new friends. As did we! There are a lot of Canadians here and we met about half of them! You're certainly correct about the many nice folks.

How far south did you make it tonight? Hope the trip is not wearing you out too badly. See you soon.

Jack and Terry,
While the park is nice and the new friends very nice they still have a long ways to go to beat our previous "CG". Wish you'd 'thawed out' your rig and joined us down here. I know you would have liked it. Even Ms. Maggie would have felt at home! You should have seen the boys interacting with all the other dogs. There were several nice Labs.

Happy Trails to everyone. Dennis and Mary Kay and The Boys

Bob and Mina,

I may be wrong here, but, I believe HamRad is in that campground that we drove into, parked, walked around, drove around some more.

I think - - - which we all know is very dangerous!

Just got back from a soak in one of the several hot tubs here at the FoY Spa and RV Resort. Very nice feature of the resort. I suggest that the organizers of the Quartzsite get together install a couple of hot tubs! Maybe, since we have such a nice campfire, we could combine the two! Happy Trails, Dennis and Mary Kay
