Shut Off Valves
I have finally gotten tired of having low point drains with no shut off valves. Everytime I drain the tank or lines I have to work in the water or do it a day early. I have a 2003 3575RL and the drains extend beyond the belly.
So I installed some shut off valves. They are 1/2" id and threaded at both ends.
Then I bought an adapter that will go in any of the three drains and allow me to connect a hose.
In operation as I drained my fresh water tank after sanitizing for winterizing.
Cool, huh!
Have a great day!

Too cool Mike - something I should have done years ago, but to late. Maybe the new owner will think of it by reading this post.
Too bad there is not a way to close them above the belly insulation.

Nice, now you dont have to work in the mud.
It would be great if it came like that.

Where did you find the valves at? I tried Home Depot and Lowe's and couldn't find them there.

That works, however, I got these from Home Depot, three shut offs and the adapter for about $9. I was on my way to may daughters to pick up her kids and stopped in at Home Depot on the way. In the plumbing department...two separate aisles...so they had to send the dogs out to find me but it all worked out okay.

I used the same valves on our prior Montana. Worked great. This one has the docking station so is set up with valves in the docking station.

I really have not seen the need in them, mine are right on curb side next to side of coach. Reach down screw them off leave come back it's done. Little but not that much water in driveway to walk in. But if you need them then you need them.

Mike, that is a great idea. I'll have to look the next time I go to Home Depot or Lowe's.
Broome101, my fresh water tank drain is off center and closer to the street side. Inside the my docking station, I have two valves for the hot water tank.

DonandAnnie, just an fyi. Those two valves in the docking station are for the low point drains. They were moved inside because on older Montanas with the drains below the belly they tend to freeze. The docking station also has a water heater bypass. It may have just been a typo.

I don't need them on my low point drains but one of these for my fresh water tank would be great. We always port water and need drain it after each trip. Thanks for the idea!

My neighbor has a 2005 Everest and he help me winterize this year. We thought the two valves in the docking station were tied into the hot water tank.(They weren't mark at all) I wondered where the low point drains were. Is the Anode rod the only drain for the hot water tank
There is a Hot Water Bypass and a Winterize switch or valve too.

Don, the anode rod is the only drain for the water heater, as you surmised. Kind of a pain, but that's the only choice.
