Three Steps to Four Steps
Since we bought a leftover '11 model and the new '12 models come with a 4 step entrance, wondering if the 4 steps are available after market? DW loved the 4 step entry when we looked at the '12 models.

At the fall rally they said they were interchangeable. Should be available from Lippert

Lippert has a lighter stair that is a part of the specials for the fall rally. The one they are showing is a three step model. I'd call them and see if there is a four step option.

We replaced our 3 step with a 4 step. Much easier on the aging knees.

Ken,
Did you go thru your dealer or buy direct? I noticed that you can buy these online:

Not sure if this is where Lippert are buying them from?

We bought them directly from Lippert 8" Radius Quad Step w Tape $200.00. $50.00 shipping. Item No. 270038. Lipperts Phone No. 574-537-8900. I think they are better made than the quad ones above. We really like them. So much easier to get into the trailer.

When we were looking at the Montana's, my wife mentioned how much she prefered the steps on the 2012 units (4 steps) over the 2011 unit (3 steps) we were looking at. When we started to make a big deal over the tires on the 2011, the sales manager offered to change out the steps on the 2011 with ones from a 2012 and, give us $200 in merchandise. I guess they really wanted the 2011 3615RE off the lot. We took the deal. Not quite equal to the cost of a set of tires, but it helps.

Took our 4 step unit off today. I found that it was mounted at an angle(edge of the steps dowwn. Also there was an 8" gap between the steps but, a 10" gap between the top step and the trailer floor. I was able to drill new holes and raise the steps 1" and also mount the steps level. Much better now. Even a 1 inch differance is a lot for someone with back and knee problems (DW). Next I'm going to look at making a brace for the bottom rear of the step unit. Look like it was designed for one but never installed on the frame.
