Help on Back Valance
Help,
Trying to take my back valance down to repair a day-night blind that is broken. Checked the pictorial that is available on site dealing with this subject. I have search the valance for screws that might be holding it up but have only found two and I have nothing long enough to reach them. The blind is in the up position but i'm afraid to put it down because I will not get it back up. If I drop the blind will I see the acrews? Any help would be appreciated.
George

It is unlikely you will see anything more if you put the blind down. There should be three or four screw holding the valance up. Some of them may be hidden under the fabric. I use a power screwdriver with a 12" extension. I suggest you take out the two that you can and then wiggle it around and see if you can see where the others are. I suppose it is possible there are only two but I sort of doubt it. FWIW, the hardest part of the entire job is taking that down and putting it back Good luck

Yes you will have to search around. Also, remember the head is "square" not phillips. Good luck.

Unless you put the shade down you won't be able to see the screws that hold the valance up. you will need to take the valance down in order to see the screws that hold the shade up on the wall. On every rig I have seen the shades are screwed to the wall and not the ceiling. Good luck.... Dave

I am in the middle of repairing several shades and yes the screws are hard to see. I had to have the shades down and then use a flashlight to look in the right and left corners to find two screws on one side and one screw on the other and two screws toward the middle on the valance. The screw is a Robertson screw which is a square head, I went to Lowe's and got a 6inch driver and that worked for me. I also had my wife holding the material back for me, so I could see the screws. The screws went through the top of the valance and into the bottom of the cabinets. Their were also two screws put in at an angle on the side pieces. Good Luck

Yep, they hide 'em pretty good. Use your fingers to find the L brackets.
