fireplace removal 3810MS

Anyone know how to remove the fireplace? I have to get to the back of the TV to check some wires and splitter location. How do you remove the smoked glass front plate? Don't want to break it!! Thanks John

Not familiar specifically with the 3810MS. But on all four of our Montana units, removal was the same, Fireplace front plate has 4-6 screws, remove, whole thing pulls out. Just be careful with the front glass when removing.

That is what i'm concerned with. How to get the front smoked glass panel off. I gently pulled on it but was affraid to crack it. Are there clips on the backside of the glass?

On mine, the fireplace comes out as a whole unit. You do NOT remove the glass. On mine, there is a metal trim piece, about 1 1/2” wide, around the outside of the fireplace, which slides up and off. It conceals the screws holding the unit. Once off, there are four screws which hold the fireplace in place. Once the screws are out, the whole unit can be removed and unplugged. It is not very heavy.

John&Joyce,
Late to this post. I have the 3811 and same fireplace. Manual shows glass front needs to lift up and then out from top first. It installs with vertical "lugs" that fit into slots on the metal frame. The top of the lug has a curved hook that latches into the slot and slides down. Mine is very tight and I did not feel like trying to get it to remove.

Searched several sites for online copy of the manual to no luck.
Hope you got this figured out.

Removing the fireplace and removing the glass doors have nothing in common. At least for mine and it is a 2016 model. Mine has 4 screws holding the fireplace in place. They are visible as you look at the fireplace.

I also tracked coax to this location to deal with coax connections behind the fireplace. I found a splitter that didn't split the signal. That told me there was no testing of systems at manufacturing.

Glass front removal?

I need to get behind the Titan fireplace to route a new coax for my Dish tailgater.
I have searched this forum and keystone forum and apparently the glass front lifts up a bit and then out. The brochure shows the mounting screws behind the glass front. Sounds simple enough - however - my glass panel is mighty tight. The left hand side will jiggle maybe 1/16” up and down but the right hand side is solid no movement. I got up real close, braced myself on my knees, put my hands in the slot and pulled up hard. Nothing gives.

There is a screw on left and right side of the slot in the glass. I have not tried to remove those to see if it helps. The whole thing feels like I will break something if I try to pull harder. My back feels the same way. There has got to be a simple solution.

Suggestions?

fireplace removal update

Update...I got the glass panel off.
Remove the small screws on each side of the slot - then lift up and out.
I removed all six of the fire box mounting screws...and now I am stopped again.
It seems like the unit should slide out as I pull...but it is in the opening solid as a rock. There has got to be another screw or two. It is not moving at all. Does anybody know the secret move to make??

With mine it did not require the removal of the glass. There are four screws which hold the whole unit into its opening. The screws are visible when looking directly at the fireplace. Mine pulls straight forward, very basic installation.

Also, when you finally get it out, check for any coax connections back there and ensure they are tight.

Good luck!

The fireplace in mine is different. Look at the attachment in post #8 above.

You don't need to remove the fireplace to run your new coax.
Simply take the drawer out of the cabinet and access the area that way. A fish tape or do like I did and pull your new coax in with the old one. Use some dish soap and water to lubricate the coax.

30 minutes tops.

We have a Furrion and you simply lift the glass up and it comes off. Then there are screws that the glass hides you can remove and the fireplace comes right out. I have done it a couple of times to clean up the wiring/add new and adjust the TV lift. Fairly simple job.

I give up...it beat me.

I give up (for now). That thing is in the cut-out hole tight and solid. I can’t budge it. It does not even wiggle...so I put the glass panel back on, and the battle will have to be fought another day. We are leaving tomorrow to go to Houston to visit new grandson.

If it's a Furrion, download the installation instructions

Thanks but it is a Titan Flame WF series. I have a manual in my RV manual stuff (screen shots from the manual attached in my post above) and the pics seem to indicate that it simply slips into the cutout and is held in by 3 screws on both sides...but the thing is wedged so tightly I am afraid I will damage it if I pull any harder. I will get back at it after the holidays.

I have the same fireplace and also need to get behind it. Thanks for the update on the glass removal. Once I try mine, I'll update the whole unit removal if successful.
Looks like I need to update my signature as well.

I have a better idea...just come to Houston this week and practice on mine first!
Then yours will be easy-peasy.

You talk about the three screws on either end, but no mention about removing the two screws, one at each end in those long openings that appear to screw into the wood of the fireplace opening. I'm betting if those screws, that were labeled 'remove first', were removed, the unit will probably slide right out.

So the glass panel has some extrusions attached to it that slip over some knobs and then slide down into place (a terrible description - sorry for that).
The little screws I reference are actually “keepers” to hold the glass panel in place...otherwise it might bounce off during transit. The extrusions have a tiny hole that lines up with the fireplace frame. Take those screws out and the glass lifts off.

There has got to be another set of screws that the Chinese draftsman did not illustrate in the manual.
