DVD Question

I just picked up my new 3000RK this weekend. I put in a DVD to watch and the picture on the tv looks clear but has no color. Looks all gray or light blue. I figure it just has to be something set wrong on either the DVD player or tv. After reading both owners manuals I still don't see anything to try. Has anyone had this problem before? Not sure what brand the DVD player is.

I just recently had my DVD player replaced by the dealer and when I played my first DVD I had the exact same problem. I found that they had connected one of the RED cables going from the DVD player to the TV incorrectly. I would suggest that you look at each cable on the DVD player and trace it to the TV and make sure that the jack on the DVD player is labeled the same on the TV. You may find that the DVD jack will be labeled something like Pb/Cr and the correct jack on the TV may be labeled Cr/Pb. That will be OK. Once I plugged my cable in correctly my problem went away completely. Good luck in finding your problem.

We had a similar problem. We have a 2008 3400RL and the DVD player only worked one time. We had it replaced with the same model and that failed real quick as well. Finally the dealer got in the newer version 6000. The picture was clear but only in different shades of blue. No other color. The surround sound didn't work either. My husband repaired the second faulty DVD and we went back to using that one.
