Spectrum Mobile

With being recently retired I needed to lower my close to $190 a month Verizon bill. I first went to the T-Mobile senior unlimited plan for $70 a month with auto pay plan for 2 lines. I found it worked great everywhere I went except for in and around my home location. So, after a couple months of hoping it would improve especially so with the $120 a month savings we gave up. So we went to Spectrum mobile at $90 a month unlimited for 2 lines. Coverage is fantastic as I found that they use Verizon towers, so we’re now saving a $100 a month, works for me on a limited income now. Verizon has a great over 55 plan but it’s offered in very few locations. I might note that over the years I’ve tried AT&T and Sprint and there coverage where I live is as bad as T-Mobile. If you can use T-Mobile they definitely have the best deal and customer service by far of any I’ve dealt with.

Okay. I got the OTR Mobile Sim today. Activated it and fired it up in the Netgear Nighthawk. I'm getting 8MB down and 1MB up. Good enough for Netflix. It's unlimited with no cap or throttle. We'll see.

Today's test (7/19/19). Better UL results. I used almost .5GB yesterday. Seems pretty good so far...

We just added unlimited data with Verizon. So far, so good. The catch to it is the speed is reduced similar to that of a second rate carrier. In other words your service will not be at the performance you may be accustomed to. They did offer the ability to phone in and have your service boosted for a period of time such as for streaming or other needs requiring full power.

As usual, you get what you pay for.

Using Verizon towers may provide good coverage that Verizon is known for. However, odds are that you will not have Verizon customer level performance.

VISIBLE.com is a new offshoot of Verizon: a low cost alternative for calls, text and DATA. We HALVED our bill by switching from Verizon to Visible...and a big plus for the early adopters to Visible is that the data is TRULY unlimited and is not throttled, even for the hotspot. This has been a dream come true for us. I cannot praise them enough! Coverage is excellent and we consistently get download speed from 8-18 Mbps. The bill per line is $40 dollars. That's it. No additional taxes or fees. If you are interested in this, you can use my code to get the early adopter unlimited speed and data; go to visible.com, and look into it...then enter the code wNdN6. That will get you $20 dollars off your first bill.

I just did a speed test again down load 67 and up load 25.
It varies from time to time.
What does other people get?

I glad you're getting good value from Visible. My experience was just horrible. That's why I went with OTR Moble (ATT). I signed up with Visible over a month ago. They took my $40 and were supposed to send me a phone. It never arrived. Every time I tried to contact them (they only use chat or facebook) I never could. I tried almost everyday over a 7 period and could never make contact. One time I had their chat up for 4 hours. They never responded. I finally had to call my credit card and dispute the charges to cancel the service because they failed to respond to chat and facebook. I've heard others having good service from Visible, I did not.

I ended up purchasing this truely unlimited plan from livinlite and have had fantastic results so far after the first week i had already used well over 100gb of data and had no issues streaming anything. I was told when i first purchased this that people regularly use over a terabyte a month and have no issues and so far can confirm it works well and the support was fantastic. Now it is more expensive than some of the others but they had a nice website and the support was what did it for me. The owners of this site are full timers and use these same products in their own rig
