How to tell when you're only early warning.

Sat here this afternoon trying to figure out when to haul the cats to the storm shelter and at the same time trying to keep my knee up and iced. Small tornados and hail all over the place this afternoon. Watching both Topeka TV stations they were covering the stuff near Topeka exclusively and totally ignoring us out in the sticks. At one point their maps showed circulation and hail on both sides of us and they didn't even mention our county at all. When the storms got closer to Topeka then all of a sudden they got interested. Thank goodness years ago I got Accuweather Professional to use at the store and so I've got, on my laptop, closeups of exactly what's happening to us wherever we are.

Good to hear you both are alright. I seem to recall we had a conversation about the merits of your about real of the county while we were in Florida. We are Florida residents instead of Texas due to wweatherly

Since our "RV Home Base" is in Kansas we do have a storm shelter and had to use it tonight for about a half hour. Luckily, the severe storm that came right at us died right over us so some wind and a little hail is all we had to deal with.

Running from Florida to Michigan this week I was watching a very omnibus cloud to the west moving across to the east. Finally it got a bit too scary for me, as a too many time experience person who lived in Oklahoma a few years ago, I pulled into a rest area and low and behold there was the weather channels storm chasers watching the same clouds. Guess I haven't lost all my knack of studying clouds. Any how, very gusty winds, total downpour and some small hail, and it was gone and we were on our way. Stay safe everyone, weather is mean this year. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie
