Cable splitters

Doe’s anyone know where to start looking to find where the cable splitter is located, we’re having issues with our cable signals to all three tv’s and the weak link seams to be the splitter.

We have one splitter that is located behind the water service panel. Not sure on your model but on ours you can easily access it by taking the back wall of the pass front pass thru down. The water pump is also located there. The external cable feeds come in thru the water service panel and the splitter is just a foot or so away.

There have also been numerous postings about flaky coax cable connections from the factory. One bad connection in the main line could affect everything downstream.

I’ve ordered a 5mhz-1002 splitter and I’ve had all the connections changed with the exception of where the splitters is at. All has been work great until 3+weeks ago.

If you are not using your satellite connection Hook your cable up to that then hook your TV to your satellite connection. They do not put splitters on satellite connection.

Our satellite connection did have a splitter right over the water pump. Once we disconnected it and wired direct all our satellite problems ended.

With a satillite a splitter will not work. There must be a separate cable per receiver.

Have had 4 RVs in past 4 years. In all, yes all, cable routing and reliability was always a problem. 3 of the RVs were brand new. The labeling didn't match what really happened, in all cases. When I got the last, a 5er Montana, and tried to make a King/DISH satellite system work. I found out that before that, I really didn't know what problems were. Long story short, out of frustration, I ended up abandoning all installed cabling and putting a dedicated terminal connection on the outside of the wall as close to the Wally box as possible. Works like a champ on two TVs now. Tailgater has two outputs.

Do you mean a "special" splitter designed just for sat? Is it before the box? Must be.

we had satellite tech out to test our 5th before I even tried anything. reason being I wanted to know everything was "right" before I started hooking things up and having issues that I don't understand. for us all connections tested out good.
we have separate satellite inputs in the water service panel for bed room and living room.
cable from dish goes into cable splitter then to each input in water closet. each TV has its own box. works great for us.

Have a new 3810 Montana, 2018, and can't get the living room tv to run off the roof ant. The bedroom and outside works well. The living room tv says NO channels avail after you run the channel scan. The Winegard power booster only has 2 outputs. Has anyone used a splitter on the outside tv to get service on the living room tv?

New 2018 and all of my tv connections were just put on with only one thread. All were loose with poor reception. ALSO, check all your water connections inside the rv. I had to tighten everyone. I could loosen them with my fingers!!. Could have been a Desaster!!!!!!

I have a tailgater with dish service. Tailgater partially worked when connected to living room connection in docking station - by “partially” I mean that I got a picture but could not initiate a scan. The black box (VP211z) sends/recieves signals and commands back and forth but only partial signals were getting thru. I got a few channels but it only recognized 1 out of 3 stats. The scan command would not initiate. The only reason it was able to do that is because I had it set up and scanned with coax thru the window before I tried the docking station connection. Basically it was unwatchable. I had to run direct coax thru window using a white flat coax piece ($11 from camping world). Now it works but DW does not like the black coax dangling from window to tv. Basically if there is a splitter between tailgater and black box the system will not work.

Service tech at my dealer tells me there should be a splitter above and behind the docking station. I plan to test one cable at a time to find the living room cable. I will probably use the park cable connection - not the tailgater - to see which cable connects to the tv. This will avoid the dish system trying to rescan each time it is connected or disconnected during the test. Once I locate the direct link to living room tv I will connect tailgater to that cable and see if it scans and functions correctly. I plan to work on it this weekend if it doesn’t rain. I will let you know how it comes out.
