strange thing happened to the slide pump

Interresting thing happened to me today, I pushed the rocker switch that opperates the Hydrolic pump for the slides, they all went in well, but when I listened closer I could hear a motor running I could not find it in time to see what was running because it stopped. I did a check of the fuses and all were OK I then decided to push the rocker switch for the slide and it didn't work. all the batteries were up and had good voltage, still no pump..............then I checked the strapped fuses for the pump and both were trigered or blown, I reset them and the slide worked just fine.
my question is has any members had any problems with there rocker switch sticking, and leaving the pump running, do you think some contact cleaner on the switch would be a good idea to remove any dust or dirt over the years of service.

Thanks for your help.
Don

If you think it is the switch I suggest replacing it. I do not believe the cost is that much and the damage it could cause is much greater.
Best of luck.

The wall switch just energizes the "trombetta" a set of high amp contactors on top of your pump. Perhaps those contacts are what's sticking ... just a thought.

Thanks for that information on the switch and the "trombetta".
I will start with the switch spraying some contact cleaner inside the switch, but I'll go to a RV supply and get a switch just in case that dont work, the trombetta contacts are pop riveted to the motor housing, that one will have to wait untill we return from our vacation, then I'll take it apart and clean the contacts with a points file or some 600 grit paper.

Hi Every one,
I am asking here if anyone has had problems with the slide's coming in when trying to close unit up for traveling.
I am suspecting a blow-en hose or a leaking line as when I added fluid to the tank things worked then,
I left the unit sit for three weeks and returned to the fiver and put the slides out with no problem.
Today when I went to pull them in again I had to add fluid. I have scanned the bottom of the unit and can not see any signs of fluid on the underside of the unit.
Has there been any problems in this category ?
Rick
PS unit is a 2009 3400rl.

Rick, since the belly cover slopes to the middle, leaking fluid could be collecting there and could take some time to make it's way to an exit. It may flow out during travel. Try using a flashlight through the opening where the hydraulic cylinders are located. Under the bed is another location it could be leaking but you should be able to smell the fluid if it were there.

Hello every one,
Thanks Dave. I decided to take a sharp pointed punch and poke it through the under couver, and Bingo I found oil,
So now all I have to do is find a pace to sell it at todays prices, Ha Ha,
I cut the under couver where the oil was located and found a hyd.Line that was cracked and weeaping so now in process of repacing.
Thanks again Rick
