Vented box for 6V battery

We have our Montana at the dealer and have two new 6V batteries to replace the existing 12V battery. The problem is the dealer does not have and the supplier does not have a vented box tall enough to fit the new batteries.

The dimensions of the 6V batteries is 10 ¼” x 7” x 10 ½” tall. Does anyone know where I can get a vented box tall enough to fit my new batteries?

Try a google search for 'dual battery box '. You may find what you need close, depending on where you're at. Bluesea used to make them for marine use, they don't anymore.

Fishery Supply is where I have always obtained my battery boxes. They were the only one with a battery box which held four Golf Cart batteries. Also their prices were about half what Blue Sea wanted. They have re-organized their web site once again and the four battery model doesn't appear. They do have a box that holds two Golf Cart batteries though.

It appears they have an incorrect picture (a one battery box) associated with the listing. You might want to call them and ensure they have what you want.

You will have to fabricate a vent system, but that is pretty easy - cut the vent out of your existing box and mount it on the new one.

Here's another source from Interstate Batteries. They are made in Vancouver, BC by Century Plastics. http://www.allbatterysalesandservice...cfm/2,619.html

They don't come vented, but it's easy to cut one in and attach it to the factory vent hose.

I still had to cut a hole in the bottom to allow the air in from the bottom.

Great find Jim! That is the 4 GC box I have bought before and the price is what I remembered. I have bookmarked this source in case I need it again.

If you are looking for someplace local try a boating supply store. They will be more expensive but if in a hurry they should have boxes in stock.

Go to your nearest golf course or golf cart vendor to see if they have them. I paid $10 a piece for top and bottom. Then went to Lowe's for PVC the size of hose to outside vent and "Y" fitting to handle 2 batteries.

When I installed the Blue Sea box for my 2 Trojan golf cart batteries I used my Dremel tool to cut the vent pipes out the OEM box with about 3/4 inch flange of the old box. Then I used silicone to glue them into the top and bottom of the Blue Sea box after cutting snug holes for them. they work great.
