How's your drawers?

Our silverware drawer is really rough and tight, it's heavy, and the slides are poor quality (shocker...) so I removed the drawer and checked it out. The lube they used turned to glue, black sticky crud, I cleaned it off best I could, lubed it with a light oil, but it was still rough.
So, I changed the slides with a Lightly-used drawer, cleaned those slides and lubed them up.
Works so nice now, worth the effort.

Here's how to do it:

My couch slide fell apart, the ball bearings came out. Found some several months ago and didn't know where they came from. Discovered when we came down to Arizona and took slide out and put back together minus one unit with 3 ball bearings in it. Works, but have to be careful when pulling out and sliding back in. Real crappy set-up for the slide but I'm getting use to the poor craftmanship in these trailers. My 2001 was much better quality.

I completely rebuilt ours yesterday as the wooden frame holding the drawers up fell apart. It was held together with staples and only had one screw holding the drawers up. Now the frame is held together with screws and has three screws holding them up.

Preferably on a daily basis. When this thread was started, I was wondering how long before it started heading in the wrong way. I think Ozz and his creative genius planned it that way!! There is still some good information provided though.

Completely rebuilt the drawers last week as in 2002 they used cheap guides and even tho there was room for 22 inch drawers they were only 16 inches deep. Made new drawers using same fronts and replaced guides with newer and heavy duty ones. I also had a blank spot under the oven and built a large drawer there for pans. If I could figure out how to post smaller pictures, I would post them.

Good job kjansen. We would love to see the pictures, sounds like you are a handy person. See if you can make them smaller on tinypic.com it is easy to use, choose the size that works for you, probably email size. The site goes into your photos and the one you choose resizes. Try it and if you have questions let us know.
You can also go to Picasa and download them to it's site, then post a link. That may be the best.

The drawers next to the closet on my 3400rl are a disaster, and trying to squeese in between the bed and dresser drawers is no easy task, When they come off the roller guide and fall forward it's hard to get my drawers back to where they should be.
The little thin plywood wall seperating the drawers from the closet is a joke and has broken loose a couple of times.
No easy task
