The only problem I've encountered is locating the correct button on the remote without my reading glasses!

The only "problem" we have is that the power awnings can't effectively be tied down. They have to be retracted when you leave the site. This is not really hard to do. Just have to remember.

That's why I want the power awning...go to bed, bring it in....leave to do something....bring it in....too difficult with the manual so it stays in ALOT.

Stiles, not sure that the "can't be tied down" statement is universal. We always tie ours down, and now for the usual statement "we do it, it may not be correct, but it works for us!" I will agree that if the electric awning has the wind sensor installed (ours does not) that it should never be tied down then. The primary reason we tie ours down is we still hang the garishly bright awning lights from the roller tube and also have a sunshade that is sometimes attached as well. In this circumstance, retracting and extending becomes a laborious process for me!! As always, this is presented as my opinion based on what we do with ours, it may be applicable for others.

We tie our power awning down always...even stays out in 30 MPH wind..
Plus, we use a sun screen which holds it in place.

What Bingo said plus; The only thing I have remeining from our boating days is docking ropes and that is what I use to tiedown our power awning. Loop them over the ends and tie them off at the stakes. Now if strong winds are forcast or we will be gone for an extended period, we bring it in.

Like Lambchop, we use a screen with ours. Additionally, I have added a 1/2" angle aluminum brace to keep the arms extended. We add deflappers to the angles. We have had 40MPH winds that made more noise with the slide awnings than the main one.

We "replaced" the entire awning from manual to electric. We did not just replace the arms.
