Question about the wall behind the shower and where the slider slides in. I put a flashlight in there to see why I could hear the water running so loud when rinsing the black tank. I found out there is no paneling on the back side of the shower and I can see the water regulator. Anyone else notice this?

Yes, that is the vacuum breaker. I has to be high to break the water stream when you shut it off, it then sucks air and drains back.
Sometimes this sticks, and you get water everywhere in that area. It has just happened to us once.

And what a unique way to access it by putting a hole in the paneling. In our case, they put up a picture frame with double sided tape. Even funnier, neither our dealer or the Keystone rep during a previous tour knew what it was for.

I had to cut a hole in the paneling to get to mine.. I found out that if you do not turn the water off completely you will have water everywhere.. Now I turn the water off and take the hose off..no more leaks..

I'm confused. The back side of my shower is the space for the pocket door. Do you need to remove the sliding pocket door to see the vacuum breaker?

Except that the hole in the panel was nowhere near the actual valve we have had no problem. we can hear water running through it when rinsing the black tank because there is water running through it. We did have the valve develop a crack and leak after 5 1/2 years.

Our valve failed and sprayed water all over the kitchen floor. The valve is located behind the faucet assembly.

No need to remove the door I just shined my flashlight back there with the door shut to the Bedroom, and you can see in there really good. I was surprised there was no panel on the back side. Thats why I was asking the question.

Where do you purchase a new valve? Rv supply store or Lowe's. Not sure if it is rv only parts.

The compact plastic special use valves would be at RV supply places. Not to say a conventional vacuum breaker wouldn't work, but it would be easier to connect the RV type. They are under $20.00

Most of our homes, (and all commercial buildings) have the vacuum breaker on the outside faucets, if a hose would be in a Koi Pond, for instance and the pressure in the hose lessened, the hose could draw in water into the fresh water system. The vacuum breaker stops this. Same idea with the Black water sprayer. We don't want nastys being drawn into our fresh water.

This is particularly important if you are either using your regular water hose or the outside shower hose to flush the tank.

This is what they look like but the ones I have seen are clear. I took a picture of mine but I cant get it to upload. I had to take it out of my 295rks because it was leaking.
