Slideout leak

I am the proud owner of a 2007 Mountaineer 307RKD. Today I noticed that the carpet in the bedroom next to the slideout was wet. We have had a lot of rain the last few days, but the slide has been closed. Anyone have a problem like this, or any suggestions to fix it myself before hauling it 50 miles to a shop. Any info appreciated.

We have that problem whenever one or more of the vertical slide seals are turned under. I am finally getting in the habit of checking this after extending the slides. I run the awning rod under the seal to turn it the proper direction. We don't get the water when the seals are correct. We do get wet when they're not.

This might not be your problem but it's worth a check and is a cheap fix.

When you brought your slides to the closed position did you have the battery(ies) enabled? I have found that the extra force applied when closing the slides with the battery installed and enabled makes a lot of difference where those slides seal and don't. I had such a leak this past winter only because I had a gap in the seal when the bedroom slide was closed. By reinstalling the batteries and opening and reclosing the slide did the problem go away. Earlier I had removed the batteries and thought the power from the converter would be sufficient to close the slides and seal them properly. That was a mistake.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like we are going to get more rain tomorrow. Guess I will close the slides while it is raining and take a look to see if I can find the source of the leak.

Well, I now see my response was irrelevant since I neglected to note the problem occurred with slides closed. Sorry.
